I just had a thought that his separation from the Mother and his newfound connection with human history may have "taught" him how to be the inverse of what she is. Kindness instead of cruelty, understanding instead of control, empathy instead of cold apathy. In his soul searching, he has become the anti-mother. He has seen the worst of humanity, both in their present state and in the past, and chosen a different path. Either way, great work!

2024-06-08 13:45:00 +0000 UTCThanks Chase! Well I think that they’re quite childlike emotionally really, they can be very cruel too, we just haven’t seen that side of them yet. The Post-humans experience a basic level of biological Programming and training whilst “in-utero” so that they can interact with others and be part of a competent fighting force when they are “born”. Uthipidus is slightly different from the rest however, being that he is a failed experiment, he was trapped in a state of limbo when going through the process of ascension to become an Over-Father. Uthipidus is a very intelligent being and understands the nuances of most interactions intuitively, he also understands the importance of maintaining cohesion within the crew and not creating lasting disagreements. You touched on something really quite interesting there though and I’d like to hear more about what you meant by an “Un-mothered connection to their own psyche and human history causing a newfound understanding”?

It's refreshing, but also interesting how Decides and his "humans" exemplify a deeper understanding of manners, apologies, empathy's, etc. than most humans on our real earth. Does this have to do with a deep, un-Mothered connection to their own pysche and human history causing a sort of newfound understanding, just some good old character growth, or even just more a reflection of your writing?
