The Chlaan (commission).

At first glance, the Chlaan appear inanimate. Their speech is imperceptible to most ears. They can seem dull, plantlike, as though they’re never really doing anything. Don’t let this fool you, they are intelligent creatures. So intelligent in fact, that they have their own space program.

Although they are yet to leave their home system, they have small colonies on their natural satellite and their sister planet that is on a slightly more inner orbital inclination to their host star than their hot and humid swampy homeworld of Kankir.

They are an extremely peaceful species and so their society can seem to outsiders as particularly grey and plain. Historical events like revolutionary action and war seldom appear in the Chlaans history books. Their lack of dynamism as a species can perhaps be explained by their morphology.

Their method of locomotion depends upon the wiggling of thousands of tentacles on the base of their “feet”.

They have no mouth Per se, they feed much like a sponge does on earth.

They’re amphibious and spend most of their time by or in bodies of water.
