Master of One Chapter 5 rewrite
Added 2024-10-07 03:04:14 +0000 UTCI am almost caught up on my MoO rewrites, with only Chapter 6 (and the start of Chapter 7) to go!
While I'm working on these, I'm also expanding out worldbuilding and fleshing out several characters. I have plotted out the basic framework of scenes for the rest of Master of One book 1, so once I'm done with the rewrite I should be good to just keep writing until I need to take a break (at which point I'm going to go back and finish out Augur Book 2's edits, I hope to have that finalized and ready to actually publish before the end of the year.)
No huge changes, but I condensed a little of the worldbuilding at the front to avoid infodumping too much and reframed how the information about Reincarnates (like Daniel) was delivered.
The biggest new additions are that I'm beginning to build up some information on some of the organizations we'll encounter later. I added a name drop for one (The Guides) from Yuuna in chapter 4, but no real detail about them yet. We'll see them more later.
Archon finished today - I got to attend quite a few panels, some of which provided some great insights into how other fantasy and sci-fi authors handle things. I'm hoping to be able to use some of those lessons to tighten up dialogue and improve the overall flow of my writing. Highlights were listening to Travis Baldree talk - he's a really entertaining speaker even when he's not narrating one of the hundreds of Audiobooks he does.
