 Something wonderful has happened!

You all remember that I asked for help and got close to 250 replies from engineers who wanted to help?

The last weeks I have been working intensively with about 10 of them and we have now projects for the MMX happening in, Germany (three persons), UK, Spain, Canada, New Zealand, US (three persons), Sweden,

And France (thats me).

We are also constantly adding new people and throwing more tasks at this new larger team and what surprises me the most is how well everyone understands what to do. Most of all these engineers have watched the whole video series on the MMX and they are already tuned in to the aesthetics of the machine so with some of them I don’t even have to discuss - we are just aligned from the get go!

I wanted to mention just one example of the level these engineers have, I will present them all later in video but today I wanted to show you what Philip Brown is doing for the MMX :)
Philip is a Biomedical Engineer, doing robotics and 3D printer research as Professor at Wake Forest University, Winston salem nc USA.

If you remember my episode on “how to hit bass strings with marbles”

(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHXm1kqQOw4)I designed a little part that would steer the marbles correctly. Me and Phil has been looking at that part and he has developed a completely new concept where the marbles bounce not only on the string but partially on a base plates which is printed in rigid Urethane (haha, don’t ask me). On the pictures you can see Phil's Carbon M1 Continuos Liquid Interface Printing 3D printer, and the results he gets out of that.

It just blows my mind that people with this level of competence wants to design parts for the MMX!

I was always dreaming of having the marbles visible when playing the bass but it was a difficult compromise because more visibility of the marbles = More difficult to catch. Thanks to Phil being on the team, I think we can have full visibility and still catch the marbles animusic style!

So this is exactly what I asked for: Help with finishing the MMX faster without compromising the quality. In many cases the new team are improving my designs.

So, all these ongoing projects are going fully in the background, I can not make videos of them until we have the results in France but I just wanted to tell you that the crowdsourcing of competence really worked out great this time!

Here is Phil and the university:

Thank you all for believing in and supporting the Marble Machine X,

All best have a great day everyone!

No update? :'(

These new super finished parts makes your old machine look ... how I could say this nice ... crappy. Take this as a compliment! 😄

Wow, that one video from March 2017 when you were just starting out with Fusion 360 and you showed off your 100K subs plaque (I watched it again--haha). Now you're over 1.1M subs and are practically a pro at Fusion 360. It's been a year and eight months since then. A long and fruitful journey, but you're almost there, Martin.

This is wonderful, Martin! You deserve a lot of credit for being so open to collaboration and new ideas - it is inspiring to see (and it will help you get to the music faster!). Keep up the great work.
