I meant to write a post about this last week when we shot the video. Basically, a couple of months ago Matt and I were gathering up the camera equipment at the end of a shoot and we got to talking about simpler videos, ones with not so much research involved, that could be recorded without a script, just me talking to the camera. The sex swing was on the back of the door and I gestured to it suggesting 'how to use a sex swing' as a topic. He was excited and so we put idea on the schedule.

When it came time to shoot, I wore a romper to move easily and keep cool, put on some makeup, and climbed onto the swing. We shot for an hour or two -- which is normal -- but I got pretty sick about half way through, which is not. Due to my office being in an old building the central cooling system is very loud and has to be turned off while we're shooting. The room got hot and hotter still with big lights shining on me. Then I proceeded to bounce around on the swing, hang upside down, and at times do so with pressure on my stomach.

When you watch this video, I imagine you'll enjoy a few minutes of me playing and think nothing of these factors. That's the hope, right? When I watch it I'm shocked that I wasn't more green and covered in barf. After the shoot, Matt drove us back to his office and I sat for a good hour on the lobby couch settling my stomach. I got work done and cooled down in the AC then went on my merry way to get ready for the next day. It wasn't business as usual -- Sexplanations rarely is -- but I liked the exhilaration of pushing my body in new ways and of working through a unique kind of challenge (not ralphing).

Anyway, all of this is to say you and the show mean a lot to me. As I was up and down and sideways falling over myself laughing, you were on my mind. I thought about how much fun the end product would be and how you, my business partners would understand there is always more to it than the few minutes we cut it down to.
