Not the strongest story, but this episode does have some great character work for the Doctor, Clara and Danny. Some of the looks between the Doctor and Clara are amazing. And the Doctor's face when Clara says she loves Danny, and also when she says Adrian is not her type - chef's kiss. Another great tease from Missy too.

2025-05-19 20:17:12 +0000 UTCreally glad you got some enjoyment out of this one!! it’s definitely a weaker Doctor Who episode, but it has its moments! haven’t rewatched it in a while so this was a really nice refresher, seeing it through new eyes was really lovely too! ♡ the parallels between Clara’s “choice” of boyfriend and the Doctor are showcased REALLY well here: she was never attracted to Eleven for his aesthetic (hair/bowtie) as per her statement that a man w those things was “not her type”, but an ex-soldier who lives w the regrets of knowing he “did what had to be done” IS her type - Danny and the Doctor, both. he resents Danny for not being ashamed of being a soldier (despite still owning the soldier-plagued-by-his-past trope), while the Doctor hates the soldier part of his past and holds prejudice towards any soldier as a result of that self-loathing, yet the positive embodiment of a soldier is who Clara has chosen; that’s an irony the Doctor cant wrap his head around at this stage 😅 but the highlight of this episode for me is always Missy’s microsecond cameo at the very end, I LOVE HER YOUR HONOUR !!! 🗣️🗣️ the way she’s drip-fed through the episodes is so 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 thanks for another wonderful video!! 🤗
