I understand why Buffy felt like she couldn't tell the gang about Angel's return 1. She is still trying to come to terms with him being back after finally gaining some closure at the end of 3x03 2. She feels responsible for him. She blamed herself for him losing his soul, to begin with and now, seeing him traumatised and weak, she probably feels guilt for having to send him there. So, she likely wanted to protect him. 3. She wants to protect the gang, especially Giles! 4. She was scared of how they would react, given everything Angelus did to them. She knows, for the most part, how they feel about Angel. Sorry if this was all over the place. I'm not the best at writing down my thoughts.

2025-04-20 19:49:28 +0000 UTCI'm with Giles this episode, Buffy should have told him Angel was back. I'm not big on the whole Buffy/Angel relationship, never have been. A vampire with a soul fighting alongside a slayer as a close friend and confidante is a great concept, love that idea, kind of wish they'd just gone with that. I know we're supposed to see Buffy's relationship with Angel as this 'great love', but great love's shouldn't lead you to lie to your friends after your boyfriend spent several months trying to kill them. Also Xander sucks, and someone needs to punch him repeatedly.
