btw i hate the way sam reacts to ryder in this episode it is so ooc considering he’s one of the most sensitive characters in glee :(

2024-09-30 10:16:00 +0000 UTComg so sorry you didn’t know that was corys last episode however he was still alive at this point he was just in rehab and when he passed he was preparing for s5 (he’s even in the og promo photo you use for your glee collection on here) they had to make a decision whether to continue the series and decided since the first 2 episodes were already written (beatles episodes) to go ahead before the tribute however the creator and most of the cast wish in hindsight they had just stopped the series or at least for longer to grieve properly. finn/cory remains a huge part of the series but it’s hard to watch especially knowing the original planned ending. corys death happened in high school and had a huge impact on me and still affects me to this day so if you ever feel you need to take a break (especially before or after the quarterback) i understand 🫶🏻

2024-09-30 05:57:05 +0000 UTCThe tribute episode for Cory is super sad but he didn’t pass away till July 13, 2013, in between season 4 and 5 - the reason he’s in so little of the second half of season 4 is because he was in rehab - which makes his passing all the more heartbreaking! The tragedy of the tribute episode is Naya sings a hauntingly beautiful song and then after the series was over she passed away July 8, 2020 but her body was found July 13, 2020, 7 years to the day that Cory died. When you listen to the words of the song and then realize Naya passed 7 yrs later it’s almost a skin tingling foretelling of the future and a lot of people can no longer watch the episode or at the very least need to skip the song - a forewarning is very important in this case cause it can hit you very hard! The episode is season 5 ep 3 - they had already started doing some preliminaries on the first 2 eps as a 2 parter Beetles tribute and when Cory passed away they announced that they were going to go ahead with the 2 parter before the tribute just so fans wouldn’t think they weren’t going to acknowledge his death in someway. Hopefully this prepares you some but if you need to skip it or skip Naya’s song, or even watch the song ahead to prepare yourself I’m sure everyone will understand.
