Annika SFW Alphabet

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Annika lives and breathes affection. It is difficult for her not to offer comfort in gentle touches. Gently holding a hand, cupping a shoulder, tilting her head against someone else's. It's never meant as anything more than platonic and healing when she does this.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Annika needs a best friend who can be quiet as easily as they can communicate. She's been through a lot in the past few years and needs someone who can be patient. Working genially with her in the greenhouse is the best place to start a friendship.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Annika takes a bit of time to warm up to full-body snuggles. She's only been that close with one other person, and his death has emotionally rocked her to the point of fearing that kind of closeness with someone else.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

She had plans for a long and committed marriage and children with Xavier. She believes that life is dead to her now.

She is a decent cook, but a simple one. Roast chicken and herbed rice, steamed veggies - very basic but wholesome.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Annika would try everything she could to keep a relationship going so long as it had a healthy foundation. If she were to break up with a partner, she'd be firm and straightforward but kind.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quickly would they want to get married?)

As stated above, very willing. She's a bit gunshy about it now, but the right person could melt those worries.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they physically and emotionally?)

Very. Her entire being can be summed up with the word Comfort. She loves and breathes healing and compassion.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

She loves hugs with people she feels close to. Deerly and Hunter, mainly, but Silas has been known to enjoy an occasional hug.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Rather quickly in a platonic sense. She's only used it once in a romantic sense, and she said it only after Xavier did. Back then, she was too nervous to make the first move. Nowadays, she'd probably be the first to say it after a month or so of a serious relationship.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

She was jealous when others stared at Xavier a little too long. Now, she wouldn't be. She would trust her partner without reservations. She would be gracious and understanding of everyone involved, even if others showed open interest in her partner.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they want to be kissed?)

Annika's kisses are languid and deep, unhurried, passionate. Even her quick pecks feel deep. All consuming. She prefers kissing places that make her partner shiver - neck, spine, lower back, sides. She likes being kissed everywhere.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Annika loves children. She dreamed of having as many as she could. She was always excited to be a mother, but that need for family has only grown.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Annika would like to spend the early morning hours in bed with her partner before making breakfast and having tea or coffee. The domesticity and routine would be wonderful for her. If she and her partner had children, she would especially enjoy quizzing them on their coursework, giving them affirmations, and making them laugh at least once, no matter their mood. Walking them to Deerly's class and hugging them goodbye would be necessary.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

In domestic simplicity. Homework and projects with the children (if any), family time with a movie, TV, or board game, a dinner the entire family prepares (age-appropriate tasks, naturally). Bedtime would include a chapter or two in a book or checking the local news for farmers' market schedule updates and events.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Annika is an open book if she can be. She will share everything with those she's close to.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

She is saintly in her patience. She believes in getting an entire story before acting. She is the last person who would choose violence or anger.

Q = Quizzes (How much do they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or forget everything?)

Annika has a good memory, but sometimes things slip through.

She likes rose-tinting stuff to the point where she might forget them entirely if she can't gloss them into something less ugly.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Annika is very protective. She will shield her loved ones with her body. She expects her partners to be the same as her and especially do the same for children if they are present.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Annika puts in so much effort. Home-cooked meals consisting of her partner's favorites, handmade gifts, taking a day off of work (very rare for her) to go to a botanical garden, aquarium, museum, etc. Lots of touches, kisses, and romance. As much romance as her partner is comfortable with.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

As mentioned above, her worst habit is downplaying the ugly parts of others. She will wear blinders to anything in her partner's past that might paint them in a less hospitable light.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Annika is about as concerned with her appearance as the average person. She has areas she cares for more than others.

She cares for her skin's health, wears thin protective layers in the sun, and a sunhat whenever working outdoors. Her hair, too, is maintained to perfection. Her clothes are bohemian and fashionable but faded and worn from her work. She doesn't wear makeup and has no interest in doing so.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Once in a relationship, her partner is her literal other half. It nearly killed her when she lost Xavier - the same happening to you would end her.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Jordan nicknamed Annika 'Goddess.' It caught on immediately. Silas and Vardah use it often (Silas genuinely, Vardah teasingly). Most Initiates call her that, too, but it's always behind her back and never friendly.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Someone who doesn't shower regularly. She'd be so put off.

She's a bit of a clean freak, so you'd better be sure you're willing to keep a tidy home.

Don't chew your food with your mouth open. If you Must speak while eating, cover your mouth and do your best to enunciate clearly.

Shoes are off on the porch/entryway every time, even if you forgot something and need to pop in really quick.

Don't you dare go in those woods. Don't even look at them for more than a moment.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

She talks in her sleep. It's mostly nonsense, little snippets of words or a giggle, but sometimes she'll sit up in bed and mutter a command or threat in a voice that isn't entirely hers.
