Have I mentioned how much I love that you are reacting to Buffy? I haven't watched this episode since the FIRST time I watched the series years and years ago! I forgot about the term "techno-pagan." Just made me love Miss Calendar even more.

2024-05-03 02:53:48 +0000 UTCThis episode gets a lot of flak today for the rather dated special effects and props, and it has its haters, but I rather enjoy it for what it is. This came out only a few years after Ghost in the Machine, not the anime Ghost in the Shell, but a horror movie about a deceased killer whose consciousness ended up in a computer, so that may have had some influence on the writers; I don't know for sure, though, and that's just a guess. I remember the movie dimly. What I appreciate about this episode are: it's a Willow-centric episode; I actually think Moloch looked rather interesting both as a demon and as a cyborg-thing, it had some real darkness with the way Dave was killed, and it revealed the existence of techno-pagans in the Buffyverse as well as brought Jenny Calendar into the picture. Hope we see more of her!
