It's a sweet and summery, seemingly innocent, song, but there's a popular theory that it's actually about contraceptives. The flowers and herbs that are mentioned are all commonly used for medicinal purposes. I don't know how much truth there is to the theory, and it's not like our boys need to worry about that. But it's definitely an invitation to hanky-panky ;)

2024-04-09 07:38:15 +0000 UTCThanks for another great reaction to my favourite show, Jay. 🙏 I love how much you love Wille’s and Simon’s moments together. 🫠❤️ I think the amazing chemistry between Edvin and Omar is a major aspect of the success of Young Royals, but I also really admire the writing and the ways in which we see that none of the characters are one-dimensional, that they’re real, complex individuals making good and bad choices and decisions throughout all three seasons, coping with difficult pressures from their families and society in general. It’s worth remembering that Edvin was only 17 when he was cast as Wille in season 1 and he brings authenticity to the character struggling as a teenager to reconcile wanting to be loyal to his family legacy while also wanting to be with Simon, experiencing what he refers to as ‘a somewhat normal life’. For me, this episode highlights how those two desires may be mutually exclusive, though, as the demands of the Royal Court begin to threaten Simon’s ability to be true to himself and the rock through the window of his home signifies that he too may have to consider how his relationship with Wille could affect his family. And isn’t Malte a fine actor? He really portrays August in such subtle, nuanced ways, especially this season.

I've seen a lot of people really minimize his situation and even get annoyed at him for not just ignoring the comments and I think it's so unfair. I feel so much for Simon this season. He just loves Wille and wants to be with him and is doing his best to navigate everything that comes along with that, even though we're seeing how it's impacting him mentally and now threatening his safety as well. Still so thankful for the moments we get when the two of them are just together and ridiculously happy because it shows how the challenges in their relationship come from the external circumstances. Buckle up cause there is A LOT to come! 💜
