Pride (2014) - MOVIE REACTION

Pride (2014) - MOVIE REACTION

Comments

Thank you. I had never seen this film. It was special to me. I moved from Dallas to South London in 1985, and that was my first London Pride - age 30. Great memory - great film

I enjoyed that a lot. I also hadn't seen it. Thanks for reacting to it

Dude!!! I'm only in the middle of your reaction. I had to take a break because I began to get emotional. I watched this film a year ago or so and it hit me hard. I'm of the age that, while American raised in the Pacific Northwest, I remember the strikes and, of course, the beginning of the AIDS crisis around the world. I had just come out and was discharged from the Navy. I went into fundamentalist pentecostal church and "ex-gay" ministry shortly thereafter. This film depicts the feelings we all felt at that time...the joy, the despair, the triumph, the loss, and, most importantly, the courage to persevere irrespective of the circumstances. This is not just a fun film, although it is, it is a slice of humanity. I am SO glad you got to this and I'm enjoying watching it with you.

As I said earlier, this is one of my favourite movies ever and I really enjoyed watching it again with you, Jay. It’s hard hitting and tragic at times, but it also feels uplifting and reminds us of what it’s possible to achieve when people come together despite their differences. Thanks as always for your emotional reaction. Love from Cornwall. x❤️🌊

Thank you so much for reacting to Pride, this film has a special meaning to me. I live in Wales not far from where the film takes place, last year in my hometown we put on our towns first Pride festival, and the week before we showed this film. The person Sian was based on did a q and a with us. The UK LGBTQIA+ community owes so much to Mark Ashton and the minors, i don't think we would have had as much acceptance in our Pride if it wasn't for them. Thank you again great reaction

such a brilliant film, LGSM is one of the biggest inspirations for me in setting up a non profit group to support LGBTQIA+ people in my city. its wild that the community is once again facing the same issues queer people faced all those years ago

So glad you are reacting to this movie, one of my alltime favorites with one of my favorite movie quotes "I hope you appriciate him, cause there is a whole village in Wales, Who thinks, he's a hero."
