2023-11-08 14:19:16 +0000 UTCIt is interesting to me that the show runners do some incredibly subtle mirroring throughout the entire series. For instance, in the season 1 finale, Nick runs right into the ocean, Van's be damned, and exclaims, "I like Charlie Spring! In a romantic way, not just a friend way!" Right after that, he comes out to his mum. He, essentially, leapt into the LGBTQIA+ ocean. Whereas in this episode, the Rainbow Wave, so to speak, reached out to Ben, who could not even dip a toe into it. The contrast between Nick and Ben are basically two sides of the same coin. They experience the same things but react to them in diametrically opposed ways. Just a little thought from Unca Tymmie. I love your reactions, Jay, so much. No matter how many times I watch, your reactions make me weep and/or laugh... but always feel. Keep it up, man! We all love your stuff!

2023-10-25 12:32:42 +0000 UTCJay, this before, and I will say it again. There are no reactors that feel the way you do and it is truly amazing gift. The end of this episode was really hard. And what I love about Heartstopper is that, especially in season two. It deals with hard issues but in a way that you know that. Everythingβs gonna be OK. The about Ben that is really important is the rainbow that represents the LGBTQ community. Charlie didnβt forgive him but The rainbow was there to welcome him. And he rejected it. Because he is still rejecting himself. Ben has a long way to go if he ever will get out of the dark place that heβs in. Thanks again for an amazing reaction and I canβt wait for the finale!

I'm so happy he is discovering himself now and great timing on this episode as it is Ace week. π I totally agree with Charlie not forgiving Ben. He has a long way to go still. Hopefully he becomes a better person. It still breaks my heart a little when he steps back from the rainbow wave that reaches out to him. Feel so bad for Darcy. The ending breaks me also every single time I watch it. Thank you again, Jay and can't wait to watch the finale with you!

2023-10-25 03:25:48 +0000 UTCI'm so glad they didn't have Charlie forgive Ben. I think the saying "forgive and forget" is more harmful than good in real life. Ben was absolutely horrible to Charlie, always putting him down and making him feel like he wasn't good enough. He really messed Charlie up mentally and he absolutely doesn't deserve Charlie's forgiveness. I really like how you put it when Nick came out to his dad, saying to take control of the situation, it sucked that David put him in that position, but as always Nick said what he wanted to say and I loved his mom's response to it. I can't wait for you to see the finale and I can't wait for season 3! I know Alice said she could complete the story in 4 seasons, but so far Netflix hasn't announced a fourth, so 3 may be the finale season!

Steel yourself for the season finale, it's a great episode but hard to watch in some places, Kit Connor and Joe Locke step up to the plate and give the best performances of the series in my opinion.
