obviously late to this but Prue was my absolute favorite and I'm still not over losing her this early. Paige is my next favorite so it's sad that for one to appear the other had to die. Wish we could have had them both at the same time, they would have worked so well together

2024-06-13 07:27:14 +0000 UTCObviously a bit late to the party but recently discovered your reactions, and Charmed is one of my all time favourite TV shows and there aren't enough reactors out there who watch it, so I'm glad that you are! But the reason why things are a bit weird at the start of this episode or rather why there is a time jump of sorts is because S3x23 was intentionally left open-ended, as at the time it was unclear whether Phoebe or Prue were going to leave the cast; so the whole thing was left ambiguous - of course we know now that it was Prue. There is no missing scene and there was no extra 20 minutes or whatever that cleared up the continuity between S3 and S4 - the cast themselves have also confirmed this fact.

2022-11-01 10:46:55 +0000 UTCAs for a missing scene in the season three finale: this is a huge rumor fueled by fan made clips using edited footage from previous episodes, usually 02x22: Be Careful What You Witch For and 3x13: Bride and Gloom. I have hunted the internet and found nothing that supports otherwise. And even though Shannen directed the episode the studio still owns it, so she couldn't have taken some of it away. If that had been a stipulation they would've just hired another director. Plus, Shannen has stated in interviews she didn't officially know she was gone until after 3 had wrapped; so they would not have filmed Prue's "for real" death. Also every season ends with doors closing, so it makes no sense that there would be a scene after the doors slam shut. And add to this the fact that we have since been given the unaired Pilot, which Holly found surprising since it was "unaired for a reason", I don't see why they would have never mentioned this missing scene in any behind the scenes features on box set releases.

I love that they already basically had Paige written in by having the mom and sam be a thing. I'm glad they didn't just recast Prue, would've been easy to explain since it's a magical show and also glad they didn't just give Paige the same power and made hers work differently, they really handled it well. I'm sure you'll continue to love this show! Your reactions are so good

In any case, what happens at the end of season 3 is Leo and Phoebe orb in just after Shax leaves. Leo rushes over to heal Prue and Piper where one wakes up. Phoebe asks why the other isn't healing and Leo proclaims he can not heal the dead. That's the in-between you were missing.

Also, you were wondering about the time jump between season 3 finale and season 4 premiere. Ive never seen it but according to rumor, there was a 20 minute special episode that aired during the summer between seasons 3 and 4 that picked up right where the season finale left off and showed everything that happened up until the season 4 premiere. But it was a one time airing and it cannot be found anywhere, so some people think it never existed. Sadly the rumors were true, Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano did not get along but that only started during the end of season 2. From what I have heard they have since now made up. They are not friends but there is no ill will. So excited for you to continue with this show it truly is the best!

2022-09-30 18:37:56 +0000 UTCHey Jay, thought I would chime in and let you know a little info on that end scene between Paige and her Mom. To be knowledge there are actually two versions of this scene with only one small but big difference. In some countries the episode was broadcast as two separate episodes and when Paige sees her Mom she was to shocked to say anything but for the movie length version Paige actually says the word "Mom?" when she sees her. Unfortunately during the remastering process CBS screwed up and used the scene where Paige didn't say the word "Mom?" which is a shame as I actually prefer the version where she says it as it just has a more emotional effect to it, at least in my opinion.
