You can’t say you love the brothers bond if everything is one sided. Damon never apologizes to Stefan about anything but everything is Stefan’s fault. I got it. One sided fanbase.

Damon wanted to be a vampire and Stefan didn’t but because Stefan pressure him into turning the show being bitchy about it for eight seasons when Damon said Im not mad because you made me turn I’m mad because you turned you, it was just suppose to be me. I pay attention to all details and forget nothing

I really love the theme they had running in both Damon's story and Matt's that a person's own inability to forgive others can turn them into a monster. I think it's strongly implied that the reason Damon had become such a monster for such a long time was because of all the anger and hatred he felt towards Stefan for forcing him to turn back in 1864. And, in Matt's case, he was willing to kill every person in Mystic Falls rather than forgive Damon. And, in the end, both of them took steps towards forgiving the people they needed to forgive.
