I like this episode, but I have the same problem with Stefan that I did in the previous episode. The expectation that Damon should have taken the scar is basically the equivalent of someone needing a heart transplant and having a hissy fit because his brother refused to offer his own heart. And the whole thing about how Damon is never there for him.... yeah, what about a couple years ago when Damon literally died and spent several months in a prison world in order to bring Stefan back from the Other Side before it collapsed? I did LOVE that Alaric actually used the word "abandoned" to describe what Stefan did to Caroline, because I think Stefan is a big hypocrite for being all upset at Damon for "abandoning" him when that is EXACTLY what he did to Caroline. Not to say that Damon was right to leave, I can see both sides of that issue, but Stefan is pretty much the last person in a position to call him on it.
