The Truman Show (MOVIE REACTION)

The Truman Show (MOVIE REACTION)

Comments

This movie is so good, the plot, the story, the pacing. Iconic. And Jim Carrey's performance! He makes the movie, imagine if they'd gotten some "serious" actor, it just wouldn't have been the same.

Alex

"You never had a camera in my head!" That line always floors me every time. 🥲

Daryl

I had to stop the reaction to say that not all beer tastes the same, that's simply not true. I'm not even a huge beer drinker but there are a ton of different ones.

Phillip Grischa

Yes, I think so too. It might be a bit complex, but it's really a movie I'd recomment as well.

YAY!! Love this movie!! You should definitely watch more Jim Carey at his finest acting. “Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind” is phenomenal. 💕🤍💕

Jess The Fox

I agree, the interview with the producer was very chilling, and in particular the moment when the interviewer mentioned that it was well known how much the producer valued his privacy. So, this monumental piece of shit who values his own privacy so highly has no value at all for the privacy of this poor young man who has spent his entire life on camera without any choice in the matter and without even knowing it. So sick. But, yeah, this is a great movie, I really enjoyed it and your reaction to it.

Absolutely love this movie and your reaction to it. I was so happy, when it was chosen for you to watch, and it sure is one of my favorite movie reactions of yours, and it's my 2nd favorite Jim Carrey movie(my first is Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, and I hope you get to watch that one day too; also one of his dramatic roles), and it shows, that he can do so much more than just straight up comedy. It's like with this movie, they were asking the question of "How far are you willing to go for the sake of intertainment and keeping up an illusion?" and we were just rooting for Truman the whole time(at least I always am, whenever I watch it and even more so watching it with you, through your first experience) to find out the truth and the woman Lauren/Sylvia was one of the few if not the only one in the show, who actually thought this whole concept was wrong, and he had to know the truth. The faking of his fathers death by drowning just to make him scared of water, so he'd never want to sail again and never wanted to leave at least by boat/ship was sick, but what they thought was necessary to keep up the illusion of the whole tv show it seems. But they couldn't keep it up forever. Yes one of the most chilling scenes was, as you mentioned the interview the creater/director/producer had about the show and everything being constructed from Trumans birth untill the time he (slowly) found everything out and wanting to leave and realising basically his whole life was a lie. The end was just perfect closing with the catchphrase "In case I don't see you good morning, good evening and good night" and then him just walking off the set after getting as far as he could in the constructed world. This was just amazing. Can't wait to see which movie, you will be watching next.
