Julie and the Phantoms - Season 1 Episode 7 (FULL REACTION)

Comments

Just been watching this all over again, love the show. The songs and characters are great, and I absolutely love Alex and Willie together and Julie and Luke. And those emotions in Willies voice, when he apologizes, wow.

not me binging all your JatP reactions just now. Edge of Great is my favorite song and this is my favorite episode. This show is so good! Have you reacted to Love Victor or have any plans to react to it? It's another great show

Alex

I signed up to see your reactions to JATP and have not been disappointed. I love this show so much. I watched it the day it was released in September and really havnt stopped since. It has helped me through some of the worst months of my life, and will always hold a special place in my heart. Edge of Great is my favourite episode. I completely agree with Charleen^^ you should definitely react to the behind the band episodes. There is 5 and they are only about 5mins each!

As someone else mentioned, the actors who play Julie and Luke wrote Perfect Harmony themselves. They presented the song to Kenny Ortega and he loved it so much he put it in the show. There are five Behind the Band segments on Netflix that give some insight into how the show was put together, from casting to rehearsal to recording the music. I think youโ€™d enjoy reacting to those as well, once you finish with the remaining episodes.

Gosh, I adore this piece near the end of the song when Julie is singing and Luke is responding with the guitar. Honestly, I feel like guitars lost a lot of their popularity since the 80th, but what can be better than good vocals combined with a nice guitar solo? It's like two narrators taking turns in telling one story, but because they have different means of expressing it, it's so much richer than just two people taking turns singing. You know, Jay, when I first saw your reaction to this show, I was like 'oh, God, what's that'. I never heard about it before and, honestly, the premise didn't fill me with much confidence, so I planned to skip this one. But at one point I wanted to see more of your reactions, so I decided 'what the hell, might as well give it a try'. And then, somehow, after watching your reaction to the 1st episode, I found myself watching all of it :D And it turns out I'm still 13, despite what my passport seems to think, because I enjoyed it way too much for how silly this show really is :) The songs are great though, I love that in a show about the music they actually put a big emphasis on the music (and not only on the drama how it often happens). The fact that it's actually them playing and singing is a nice touch as well. It's a nifty idea, to make a TV show and send the band on a real tour once it became popular. Sort of blurring the lines between the TV world and the real world. Man, it'd be the stuff of dreams for me if I was a kid. It's a shame they had to cancel (don't think about other cancelled concerts, don't think about other cancelled concerts ๐Ÿ˜ข). Anyway, that was way more fun than I expected, thank you and I can't wait for your reactions to the rest two episodes <3

Thanks for another great reaction to one of my favorite shows. The song "Perfect Harmony" which Luke & Julie danced to, is actually written by the actors playing Luke & Julie.
