Oh, the TV show absolutely trashed Eloise's character. I had more of a neutral opinion of her in the books, but in the TV show I have hated her since season 1, and that disdain has only grown each season! El is a crappy selfish friend! She didn't notice a lot of things about Pen, including her crush on Colin, her interest in getting married, her interest in the gossip of the Ton, her writing and personality voice etc. From the beginning it appears their friendship has always about Eloise's interests and pursuits, and she seems to value Pen as her "DUFF."

2025-05-29 23:23:11 +0000 UTCI'm not on Penelope's or Eliose's side. Eliose has a right to be mad. Penelope caused a lot of harm to Eliose and her family. But Eliose is going about it all wrong and it is really highlighting how selfish she can be. I understand Penelope had a hard upbringing, and the paper was her outlet, but that does not justify using your outlet for harm which she has done multiple times. She needs to put on her big girl panties and take responsibility and tell Colin. This season does not feel like an actual romance, but a character arc for Penelope's story with Colin on the side. There is more to come with Marcus. I always love seeing Kate and Anthony. I enjoy watching the season again with you two so much. Until next episode.
