I know everyone acts like Lady Danbury is an infallible character they worship as their goddess, and I do usually like her character, but she is extremely shitty most of this season! She knows that Anthony and Kate are in love with each other, but continued to encourage a union between Anthony and Edwina, before the proposal and now telling Kate to suck it up she had her chance and move on as if she wasn't telling her to suck it up and move on before he proposed to her sister. And I really hate this story of the Sheffield's "scheme", and pinning it all on Kate who should never have had to be responsible for taking care of her sister and step mother to begin with, and everyone is pretending that Kate was scheming to get Anthony to marry her sister for his title and money and her stepmother's parents' money (which should have come with no strings).

2025-08-03 05:04:38 +0000 UTCLady Mary being wallpaper all season hurts Kate's storyline too because she appears completely oblivious to not just how her daughter feels but she allowed Kate to take on the responsibilities as the head of their household. She's always MIA with a headache and leaving Kate to be parentified...how did she think they lived and paid for anything?

2025-03-21 22:44:08 +0000 UTCIt's very telling in episode 4, she straight up says: "He is the one I want, Kate. The viscount. His family, this home, the life he offers me." She wants love or assumes love even though Anthony has told her he cannot pretend to want the same things she did at poetry night but he promised duty. After their first dance when he wanted to speak to her father after ticking the boxes during his test was insanely obvious to me but times were different then. Still I thought episode 3 was a huge red flag with Anthony telling her there would be stretches of time where he'd be apart from his wife and children as well which sounds like "you stay in the country with the kids and I keep my bachelor loft" but again...different times lol.

The actress and character is good but it detracts so much from the leads. Edwina was definitely thinking title and lifestyle because she hasn't met the real Anthony, only the side he will show which his siblings pointed out all season and what Kate kept calling out to her. She is just so awestruck by the title and charm so she is missing the red flags or writing them off. He doesn't want love, he wants duty and he has found charming ways to explain that to her since they first met. She accepted his proposal as "yes, I will be your viscountess" but she is still naive and young so she wants to be in love of course and it breaks my heart. And Kate will fall on every sword for her sister and mother to spare them which rips at my heart as well since the only ones who notice Kate seem to be Anthony and Lady D.

Jonathan Bailey's ability to emote is on another level and their chemistry is crazy. Buckle up, it's a rollercoaster of emotions all the way until the final episode!

2025-03-04 21:30:28 +0000 UTCI'm so happy you two are finally back. There are so many twists and turns to come, but I will say things work out the way they are meant to be for everyone. Another thing I will say, Edwina is in love with the fantasy of who she thinks Anthony is and what he can give her in terms of a lifestyle. All she talks about is having the Viscountess title more than being a wife of Anthony. She has never known who Anthony truly is to have any real love for him. Anthony, Kate, and Edwina are not being true to themselves and who they all really want to be. I can't wait until your reactions to the last three episodes.
