1st, Anthony is not "conflicted" as if torn between 2 women he loves and trying to choose 1! He is being an A** trying to ignore his love for one woman so he can marry a woman he knows he has no feelings for. Also, am I the only one who paid attention through Edwina's obnoxious bratty whining to hear her words? She didn't say she loved or wanted Anthony, but the home and life he could provide! This show took a character that was kind and looking for love with a man who shared her literary interests and turned her into a whinny ungrateful brat who is looking for money and title! Edwina hasn't seen Anthony's true temperament because he is putting on a show (aka lying) every time he is around her! Its not that there hasn't been enough time or as she believes that she is bringing out the best in him. He is not being himself around her. Yet he is himself around Kate... Why do yall keep insisting that Colin and Marina are "meant to be?" She NEVER loved him, she was conning him into a loveless marriage to trick him into thinking her children with the man she truly loved were his so he would take care of her and them. How can anyone see that as romantic, or even acceptable/forgivable! The life she has with Sir Phillip Crane is literally the exact thing she was hoping for with Colin, mere contentment, he was never her fairytale happy ending! She chose to con him because if/when he ever found out the truth after they were married, he would be just as amiable towards her and her children as Sir Crane. And if he never found out, his infatuation would fade as he realizes that she does not love him the way he thought she did or the way he childishly believed that he loved her. They would just settle into a polite and amiable loveless life together, just like she has with her real love's brother!

2025-08-03 03:35:28 +0000 UTCAs soon as Daphne dropped the "L" word, it scared Anthony into making the worst possible choice because he is assuming Kate will leave for India and their feelings will subside. Ultimately marrying Edwina will make Kate a big part of his family forever, they are not just sisters but best friends so that temptation will be there when she visits. Both are so stubborn but he keeps digging his hole deeper. Even when he proposed at the end, you notice that man wouldn't even look at Kate and he also grimaced after she accepted like he already knew he wouldn't be able to escape his Kate feelings. It crushed me to watch that ending because he is breaking 3 people's hearts including his own with being so rash!

This is my favorite show and I can’t count how many times I’ve watched this season. I don’t have anyone to actually watch the show with, so it’s so fun to see your reactions and relive what it was like to watch this for the first time. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 And wanting to simultaneously smack and comfort Anthony the whole time! Boy needs THERAPY 😆 Can’t wait to see your reactions to the rest of S2! Episode 5 is sooooo good. You should definitely do Queen Charlotte at some point too, Charlotte and George’s story is the most romantic after Kate & Anthony’s, IMO!

Anthony is so afraid of loving Kate that he swung the wrong way and he is hurting everyone including himself. The next four episodes are a rollercoaster but boy does the chemistry between Kate and Anthony become more intense. Until episode five.
