I thought so too after I finally started s2. I seriously had to pause for a bit while I was binge watching the s1 cause I couldn't imagine another doctor ^_^

2020-10-30 05:50:27 +0000 UTCI forgot just how much I love this episode, to me it's one of the episodes that truly highlights everything great about this show. Other worlds, wonder, terror, bravery, wit and the doctor not only saving people but also giving people the courage the save themselves.

When Rose makes an attempt to blend as a Wee Scottish Lass she Says "Hoots Mon" which a song. It was interestingly used in a television advert for Maynards Wine Gums when I was wee little nipper. The actress playing Queen Victoria is Pauline Collins, who was in a Second Doctor story called The Faceless Ones. Her character, Samantha, was conceived to be one of the Doctor's companions, but she opted out of a long term contract.

It benefits from us already knowing who Rose and the Doctor are as characters, so we really get to see them work as a team and not have as many arguments. Itβs amazing that every single character in this episode had a moment and it didnβt feel rushed. Also love the implication that Rose still has some Bad Wolf energy inside her. Overall love the start to this season (: looking forward to more.
