The Duke knew that Daphne knew nothing about sex, yes, he is a scammer, as is Marina! I am sorry. Most pf the discussion around the Daphne /Simon scene at the end is that she flat out raped him (a word that has been grossly broadened to include things that are in no way rape these days) but I do not agree with the masses (most if not all of them I doubt have any personal experience with the subject) that Daphne raped Simon. She was 100% in the dark about how things worked and Simon knew that, and took advantage of the opportunity to have the woman he wanted without having to give her what she wanted, children! And as for the gold digger (the nicest term I have for her) Marina, I will always hate her! A scammer like her who is trying to manipulate a man into a loveless marriage based on a lie so he can raise her children with the man she truly loves, does NOT deserve a "happy ending" at the expense of the person she is conning and using and she wouldnt be happy either because she does not love him! I also hate her for being a BI*** to Pen and making her cry!
