That's such an excellent point! Lestat never did apologize to Claudia smh. And yes! I really hope Louis talks about the anti-blackness of the trial in the next episode. I wish season 2 delved deeper into Claudia and Louis' experience of being Black in Europe. It would be great to see them connect with the Black community in Europe rather than solely focusing on finding vampires. Or even just finding other Black vampires.

I donβt care if he warned Louis about turning Claudia. I couldnβt take seeing Claudia burn. It really disturbed my spirit. Yes, Louis was repeatedly warned, and kept on playing. π

The way I'm on Lestats ass I'm so sorry when Claudia went "Can I cry and say that I'm sorry too?" broke me. Fuck him. This wasn't a trial it was a lynching. I felt like I was Nancy from The Craft when he apologized. "He's sorry, He's sorry ..etc." Louis literally said "I will wrap this hand around your scrawny neck and choke you like you did our daughter" He put his hand on Claudia. ! He made a grand apology to Louis but nothing to Claudia. nah On a more intellectual note: The writers have made anti-blackness so omnipresent at that trial, from Santiago mocking reading of Claudia's diaries and painting Louis in predatory stereotypes, nailing them to the stage-like set dressing and showing leniency only towards Madeleine, to calling it a stoning. The dehumanization of the pictures on the projection screen. βprops, props in a playβ black bodies objectified, ankles cut like theyβre enslaved, tortured any time they try to speak or defend themselves while the white-majority crowd jeers and laughs and sighs over the nonblack men spinning their tale. Promise I love Louis down but this man's hubris was the fall of Rome. I went back and watched episodes 2-4 of S2 and the number of times Amand spent giving him the shortened version of "The Coven is getting mad at you, you should probably get out of dodge." It's crazy
