My father died when I was a child and when I first saw this episode I was left a sobbing, blubbering mess at the end of it. One of the things I love so much about this show is how it can juxtapose crazy science fiction monsters and scenarios with real, genuine emotional moments and storylines. So excited to continue on this journey with you. There's so much awesomeness to come!

First the Doctor reveals his anguish and wrath as the results of the Time War in “Dalek”. Then we see Rose meet her long dead father only to see him die once again. That’s a whole other level of shock therapy and dealing with some longtime personal issues. How could they not be closer?

The music is so good as well in both the emotional parts but also in the build up to the action. I really like the reveal of the reaper as well, it's a really cool design. Looking forward to the rest of the season!
