If it's any consolation I have literal PTSD about the song Pop goes the Weasel. I am not kidding. When I was a child I would be having a normal dream and then suddenly the song would play. Then a weasel would appear and get closer and closer in the dream until POP! It wasn't pretty. blood and guts everywhere. I still hate the song.

The nice thing about Doctor Who is that even episodes that aren't the best still have a lot of good scenes and ideas in them. And sometimes on re-watching you like them even more. For me, an "okay" episode of Doctor Who is still better than most slop on TV. And goodness knows, I've been a Whovian for over 45 years!

This is actually one of my favorite episodes, mostly because I adore Charles Dickens and his books so much. I love the moment in the ending when Charles asks the Doctor and Rose if his books will last, to which the Doctor answers, "Oh yes... forever." So very true. I especially love A Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist, and A Tale of Two Cities. Absolutely beautiful. And the overall storyline is quite unique and even sad too, but quite enjoyable with all the humor brought in. So thank you for this reaction, Jay! Until next time...

I do agree this is a little weaker. To be honest, when I rewatch episodes (or when I did before they took it off Netflix and Amazon Prime) they are ones later in the series. I'm not a huge fan of the first few seasons of the show. They're not bad, just not my favorite. So I don't remember most of these, they're interesting to see again. I do appreciate them including Charles Dickens though!

I agree with you on this being the weakest of the first three. Unfortunately, the next couple can be a little trying, the series does pick up after that and then it's full steam ahead for many seasons to come.
