Yeah, the other thing that occurs to me is that the the little girl is probably ok because she was sent away and so the female ghost left her and went into the Deborah Kerr character. Very eerie movie.

2024-11-24 07:56:18 +0000 UTCYes Scott! Very much what I am thinking now too. I hadn't been too sure whether she was possessed really, or if she was just slowly turning mad because of it all. I do think the boy was possessed though. She was becoming like Miss Jesse's though, so maybe she did get taken over. Wonderfully crafted film though. That ending was fantastic, but yes it could be a little confusing. In reality that's all I could think with the ending, was that she was slowly going insane due to the children and the paranormal. Although she was a little off from the start. Thanks for your thoughts Scott!

2024-11-23 17:28:10 +0000 UTCMy theory of the end of this movie is that the boy died because he became completely possessed by the male ghost and it overwhelmed him and that the Deborah Kerr character became completely possessed by the female ghost and was screaming at the end because she once again was denied what she really wanted. That's the best I can do on this one. Other than that the ending just doesn't make sense to me.
