Gull Cottage, I said this on YouTube, but I’ll say it here too. My only criticism of this movie was that they didn’t use Natalie Wood enough I think they could’ve had some really good scenes between her and Rex Harrison but other than that, I really love this movie. It had a really good dreamy atmosphere to it that I liked.

Scott Howard

I am so impressed with the cinematographer Charles Lang’s work on this film. It won him one of his 18 academy award nominations over his career. Just stunning visual scenes for great actors to shine. Thanks for reacting to this classic Marty!

Robert Williams

I wish I knew of decent quality prints of the TV series... However, I'm also afraid of ruining a nice memory if it turns out the series was terrible (I mean at ages 7-9 my critical acumen wasn't exactly mature... LOL). I know it had a catchy theme song (as most American sitcoms had at the time), and it was apparently developed because of the success of BEWITCHED and I DREAM OF JEANNIE (the former of which was a favorite show of mine during that same time period). Knowing my mother I was almost certainly prepared for the tonal shift between the series and the movie. She was (and still is -- at age 93) a fount of knowledge about classic movies and loves to share the information. And my name (which is short for William, in my case) was due to the fact that she saw a production of Arthur Miller's play DEATH OF A SALESMAN while she was pregnant with me! :) I love movie reaction channels in general, but yours is my favorite!

Oh that's lovely you got obsessed with it too. I love it. Despite it being a set, it's beautiful. I have yet to watch the sitcom, but it does look great and I love it all the more with me knowing Mulhare as Devon in Knight Rider. I'm wondering if there's anywhere I can find a copy of the show in decent quality. I know there's some low quality copies out there, so maybe I'll just check those out (off the channel). It looks wonderful, especially with the comedic tone to it. Oh cool, you watched it as a series first. What did you think to the style shift? Did you prefer it? Yeah, from the look of the show it does appear the film is of higher quality production wise. Yeah that ending bit got me a little too, as I've always been afraid of ever feeling that kind of pain myself, thinking it could be a heart attack too. Oh yes! I hadn't realised it was Rex in MFL as I've yet to watch it, so hadn't paired the two together. However, I had read out that one about the Broadway replacements but removed it in the edit, as wasn't sure about it. I'll definitely add what I did back in! Thanks for that Biff! (I must admit I smiled writing your name because both of our names being in Back To The Future πŸ˜…) Thanks for letting me know Biff! Take care

I became obsessed with Gull Cottage ;) as a 7 year old when the American sit-com debuted. I think I must have watched every episode of both seasons (even though it changed networks). My mother told me it was based on a movie. Sometime during the run of the series the film popped up on local television and I sat down and watched it with my mother -- I LOVED it. Even at age 8 or so, I recognized that it was leaps and bounds above the TV show in quality. I remember the end scared me a bit (my mother explained that pain in the left arm can be a sign of an oncoming heart attack, and from that moment on I got scared if I ever felt pain in my left arm... LOL). One piece of trivia you didn't cover: Rex Harrison would become renowned for originating the role of Henry Higgins in MY FAIR LADY. One of his Broadway replacements was Edward Mulhare who would go on to play Captain Gregg in the TV show... :)
