Perfect! Thank you James, added it to the suggestions list now. I hope you're well!
Marty
2025-10-17 07:15:06 +0000 UTCA substantial list. It took some time, but I did think of one to recommend that I can't find in your list, "Chinatown" (1974)
James Melton
2025-10-09 23:18:51 +0000 UTCYes! Yep, Gremlins will be edited down for posting to YouTube this Christmas (its an UNCUT currently). Thank you for the suggestion, Falcor!
Marty
2025-09-20 11:02:10 +0000 UTCGremlins might be better suited for your Christmas List?
Falcor
2025-09-20 10:58:05 +0000 UTCNice to see you're making such good progress with requests, this increasis the probability the reaction to my favorite will be next ;-)

2025-03-24 17:20:57 +0000 UTCNo problem! Thank you :D
Jamie Dodds
2025-03-08 10:42:57 +0000 UTCGreat to hear! I'm much better now thank you. Ooh, I'd love to watch that. I think I'd heard about it ages ago. Agatha Christie's work is always amazing. Thank you so much! Adding it now
Marty
2025-03-08 10:30:48 +0000 UTCI am well thank you! Hope you’re well also ! It’s the Agatha Christie miniseries from 2015 And Then There Were None :D
Jamie Dodds
2025-03-08 10:18:12 +0000 UTCYeah, of course Jamie! Go for it. I love a mini-series. Thank you. I hope you're well
Marty
2025-03-08 10:16:24 +0000 UTCAm I ok to make a suggestion for a TV show, it’s actually a miniseries in 3 parts ?
Jamie Dodds
2025-03-08 10:07:05 +0000 UTCIt was extremely popular when I was growing up, and the song played on the radio a great deal. Our family watched a bunch of nature programs through the 60s - especially "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom", hosted by Marlon Perkins. "Born Free" was part of that general atmosphere.
Maria Torres
2025-02-06 13:57:38 +0000 UTCThank you so much Biff! I shall add it to list. I dont think I've heard of this film, but I'm excited to watch it and to hear the song. Apologies about the late reply too
Marty
2025-01-28 00:41:10 +0000 UTCThat's okay! No worries. Haha yeah I've got quite a few to watch. But it does mean we've got a fantastic cinematic journey ahead. Aw, thank you so much, that means a lot. Well, I shall be adding them to the suggestions list for you. Thanks again and take care!
Marty
2025-01-28 00:38:01 +0000 UTCThanks, I just wasn’t sure. I know you are smothered with great suggestions. I love what you do. No hurry, back of the line is fine. Take care
Robert Williams
2025-01-28 00:28:21 +0000 UTCOh sorry Robert, no its not that I wasn't interested, I'd just not replied yet. Was it the one where you mentioned "Empire of the sun" and "Kiss Of Death"? If so, I shall add those to the suggestions list above! Thank you. It'll be some time, potentially, until they are watched... unless you'd like to officially request it to be added to the short list which are priority watches? If so, please direct message me which one you'd like. If I've already seen it, I'll let you know. Thank you!
Marty
2025-01-28 00:25:07 +0000 UTCQuick question, if one submits a recommendation but you don’t respond for some time, do we assume you may have already seen it or simply not interested?
Robert Williams
2025-01-27 23:51:08 +0000 UTCRecommendation: BORN FREE (1966, James Hill, Tom McGowan). Based on the non-fiction best-seller by Joy Adamson, it chronicles the tale of raising an orphaned lion cub (Elsa) by the Adamsons. I hate to use the term "heartwarming" because it usually means sentimental beyond endurance... but in this case the movie is genuinely heartwarming. The film's title song was a HUGE hit back in the 60s (as was the movie itself).
Biff McKeldin
2025-01-16 17:21:05 +0000 UTCRecommend “ Empire of the Sun” 1987 Spielberg, Williams, Bale. Also, “ Kiss of Death” 1947 Film Noir Classic
Robert Williams
2024-12-15 16:46:37 +0000 UTCAw, you're very welcome Wolfgang! No problem at all, I can completely understand you needing to take your time. If it helps, I'm mid-editing Amadeus as being one of the next, if not the next, film reaction to go out edited down. I hope your health stays at bay for you or eases up for you somewhat. I'm so sorry you're going through it. Yes! Thank you for the suggestion of Diva, I have added that to the suggestions list. Ooh, I think I'll love that. I love thrillers, opera and I love foreign films / shows. The french language is beautiful, albeit I'm not able to speak it or understand it really. I've watched a few french pieces before, I believe. A french show I love is called "Lupin" about Arsène Lupin, the world-famous gentleman thief and master of disguise. (I haven't seen the new season). Thank you for the suggestion and as well as hoping for your health to be kind to you, I hope you're able to have a wonderful day too
Marty
2024-12-01 17:46:29 +0000 UTCMarty - Thank you for "A Night to Remember." Also thank you for "Amadeus." I started the full watch-a-long but due to my health I was unable to finish it. (Lung cancer, depression). I plan on finishing it later this week. You mentioned that you love opera. If you don't mind subtitles may I suggest 1981's "Diva." It is a French film that combines elements of opera with a thriller plot and a great chase scene.
Wolfgang Wolf
2024-12-01 17:34:01 +0000 UTCHi Ms Bulsara! Not sure if you mean the film or the show. If you mean the film, good news is I've watched that and it's available as an Uncut reaction already. If you mean the show, them yes I will be hopefully getting around to that once I've watched a couple of the other shows off the list. But I promise it will be coming all the same 🦇🧛♂️
Marty
2024-11-18 13:56:11 +0000 UTCIs there IWTV in the future?
Ms Bulsara
2024-11-18 13:51:21 +0000 UTCNo worries, you've got all the time in the world (to react to Severance, I mean!). It just occurred to me how close it's getting, if you *did* want to react to it before s2 starts, so I thought I'd mention it. Could be fun for a post-holiday winter project (and the atmosphere in the show is wintry), but I realize you probably have a reaction/release schedule planned already. 🙂
Tess
2024-11-14 22:44:38 +0000 UTC🙈 Thanks Tess! I'll reply to your message hopefully later
Marty
2024-11-14 17:25:32 +0000 UTC9 weeks until the S2 premiere of Severance...9 episodes in S1 of Severance... just a thought. 🙂
Tess
2024-11-14 17:24:21 +0000 UTCYou’ll probably have so many questions as to the accuracy of the movie which I’d be more than happy to help answer ! :D
Jamie Dodds
2024-11-11 20:08:09 +0000 UTCIt certainly is Jamie! A brilliant film, one which I very much cried at too. Hopefully coming to Patreon soon in a few UNCUT film reactions time!
Marty
2024-11-11 03:43:16 +0000 UTCIs that A Night to Remember I spy on the WATCHED list :O
Jamie Dodds
2024-11-10 21:32:51 +0000 UTCThank you Nicky! I shall certainly add that to my suggestions, I can't wait
Marty
2024-11-06 01:03:26 +0000 UTCI think you would love The Women (1939)
Nicky Silver
2024-11-05 21:29:37 +0000 UTCOoh yes Tess! Fantastic suggestion. I'll add it to the list! Thank you so much
Marty
2024-11-05 16:35:05 +0000 UTCStand By Me was excellent, and I think Marty would enjoy it!
Tess
2024-11-05 14:51:28 +0000 UTCYeah Joshua, they have certainly shrunk! Most definitely and I'm hoping to get around to both in the coming weeks. Possibly one of them soon if I can, as I've been working non stop on this edit at the moment. I'll hopefully get to reply to your direct message a little later too. Thanks again Joshua
Marty
2024-09-05 13:21:52 +0000 UTCNice, especially the list for Patreon requests has shrunk a lot, that gives hope and maybe I'll get a reaction to Kiss of The Dragon in addition to my movie request this month, even if that would of course only be a bonus that doesn't necessarily have to be there, but I wouldn't object to it either ;-)
Joshua1
2024-09-03 13:11:06 +0000 UTCAw thanks Jen! It seems you do too with those suggestions! Oh my god, that's so COOL!!! I love that. I had no idea people did cosplay of Mary Poppins, but I cab imagine it's amazing and creative as hell. Have you seen the newer Mary Poppins 2 with Emily Blunt? I saw it at a midnight showing when it came out and it was a very special moment. I loved it and whilst it was a lot different, I adored most of the choices. Even the animated style being reprised! Although I'm still a little miffed they didn't get Julie Andrews at the end... but I LOVED that they did include Angela Lansbury as The Balloon Lady. She's amazing and has a big oast with Disney, so smiled at it. I'm so glad people are still fans of Mary Poppins though. Ahh yes! I saw your comment and meant to reply, I bought the TKAM book because of it! I have yet to read it though, as I'm waiting for it to arrive. Yeah it's definitely one that gets passed over most of the time here in the UK. Or at least it was when I was in education. Oh nice! I had a feeling that was the title of that with the poster. Yeah I think it was as well (from memory). Ooh yes, a fan of physical media! Blu-Ray films are just immaculate (albeit somewhat feature bare sometimes) and are my preferred way to watch films. Even the ones I watch on the channel. Almost all the films are sourced from the Blu-Rays. Thank you! I can't wait to get to them. With many films on the list, it might take a while, but I'll try to bumo it up to be sooner rather than later. Take care Jen!
Marty
2024-09-01 03:25:14 +0000 UTCI had a feeling you'd seen those two, since you obviously have great taste, and a bit of an affinity for older movies, but I had to check anyway! I cosplay as Mary Poppins at the big Disney convention when I go. HUGE fan. 😄 btw, I may have left a comment on the TKAM video, but you should check out the book. It's required reading here in the states, and it's wonderful. Princess Bride (also incidentally based on a very good book) is indeed the one where the title can be read both ways. I think that poster was for an anniversary edition? I just remember I hadn't seen it before buying a nice blu-ray at some point. Hope you enjoy it when you get to it!
Jen
2024-09-01 02:57:30 +0000 UTCHi Jen! Ahh, "It's A Wonderful Life" is actually one of my favourite Christmas films, so whilst I won't watch it due to having seen it, I love the suggestion of it. Ooh yes, I've heard of "Lawrence..." but have yet to see that one. I'm so glad you like "TKAM", it's superb. Thank you for joining and subbing! Oh my god! "Mary Poppins" was a favourite of mine growing up. I actually wore the VHS out! Haha. It's weird with "Big Fish", as I'd sworn I'd seen it years ago when we rented the film... but checking out the trailer, I've never seen it. Oh yes, I've heard good things about "The Princess Bride"... I think that's the one with the poster that reads the same upside down or something, isn't it? I'll definitely check out the rest to the suggestions list, thank you! Thank you for the mention of the Ghibli issue, I'd actually found out about that a little while ago when they were suggested. Yeah, quite a few channels were struck and removed. I'm so torn on whether to do them. Yeah, exactly that. I'm likely going to put them up on here as UNCUTs / watch alongs for now and hopefully just show the bare minimum will be fine for YouTube. I'm always very careful with my editing anyway, as I try to perfect getting everything looking okay, making sense and also keeping within fair use. Can be a nightmare, especially with stuff like the BBC shows. It's so strange, but it is copyright.. it's just very severe as a sudden take down for Ghibli content. Much appreciated though Jen! Have a wonderful day and thank you for joining us here
Marty
2024-08-31 21:48:20 +0000 UTCA few suggestions for oldies: - "It's a Wonderful Life" for the holidays, if you haven't seen it before. It's my favorite. :) - "Lawrence of Arabia". It's very long and pretty slow, but some of the best cinematography and acting of its time, if not of all time. I subscribed after seeing your "To Kill A Mockingbird" reaction, and this one came out the same year. Gregory Peck won Best Actor that year, but it was very close with Peter O'Toole's performance in this one, to give you some idea of the quality. It was also hugely inspirational to Steven Spielberg when he was a teenager. - "Fiddler on the Roof," is maybe one of the best musical adaptations of all time. Top five in my book for sure. - "Mary Poppins" if you haven't seen it. Not quite so oldies/new stuff, I just really like them: - "Stand By Me" - "Godzilla Minus One" - "Big Fish" - "Princess Bride". If you haven't already seen it, it's required viewing. Everyone should see it at least once. By the way, I saw the Ghibli suggestions on the list. Be very careful with those. I've heard Ghibli is HARD on reactions. Fairly sure channels have been taken down for them before, or at least gotten into some trouble. Either be very careful with your editing, or maybe do them exclusively as watch alongs?
Jen
2024-08-28 09:53:25 +0000 UTCI'm so glad you liked it Brigid! I know, that ending came as a surprise for me too. It worked up to it really well. The film is so wonderful. I thought it was a simple romance at first. I'm so glad you got to finally watch it and enjoyed it! 🤗
Marty
2024-08-25 22:17:03 +0000 UTCJust finished Brief Encounter. My goodness....that ending....the husband knew! The whole time he must have known something was up! What an incredible film.

2024-08-25 20:35:54 +0000 UTC🥺 Aw, sorry about that Brigid! Trust me, it's a wonderful romantic film and it may even surprise you a little. Also, you'll be wanting lumps of sugar in tea afterwards haha. Yes! If you do get to watch it, let us know what you think of it. I look forward to more recommendations 🤗
Marty
2024-08-24 20:56:08 +0000 UTCWell shucks, too bad as I would have enjoyed watching along with you, but given your high praise of it, you've inspired me to watch it this weekend. I'll go back to the drawing board on recommendations 😊.
Brigid O'Shea
2024-08-24 19:06:47 +0000 UTCOkay, I shall do. Thank you Mel. I'll make sure to get the tissues handy. I hope you're well
Marty
2024-08-24 18:52:31 +0000 UTCHi Brigid! Oh, Brief Encounters! Brigid, I absolutely adore that film! I saw it many years ago, but it stays in my brain as I want to go to the train station someday. Unfortunately that does mean I've watched it already, but I think you'll love it all the same when you do get to watch it. Apologies! If there is another film you'd like me to see, please let me know and I'll add that one to the suggestions if I've not seen it. I love the choice of film!
Marty
2024-08-24 18:50:16 +0000 UTCHi Marty, not sure if this has been suggested yet, but a film I've always wanted to watch and haven't yet is "Brief Encounter", 1945.
Brigid O'Shea
2024-08-24 13:29:26 +0000 UTCoh goodness me, Dear Zachary is going to be an experience. An incredibly important documentary--excellent recommendation, but brace yourself for that one.
Mel Dase
2024-08-23 14:13:42 +0000 UTCOoh! Thank you Tom, I'll note that! It's good to know
Marty
2024-08-23 01:56:39 +0000 UTCFYI, the suggested movie "It Happened on 5th Avenue" (1947) is a Christmas comedy.
Tom Tattershall
2024-08-23 01:27:55 +0000 UTCHi Marla, it's still there just above "Robinson Crusoe on Mars" on the suggestions part of the list, if that's any help. I have to use CTRL + F to find titles now haha. I hope you're well!
Marty
2024-08-08 00:28:27 +0000 UTCHi Marty! Have you taken "Enchanted April" off the list?
Marla Mize
2024-08-07 22:45:35 +0000 UTCHello Marty. I know you've got a lot to catch up on. I hope you're feeling better. Thanks for your reply and for adding the movie to your list. Seems it would be a lifetime though, to get through them all!
Dirk
2024-08-07 20:11:51 +0000 UTCAh yes! The Andromeda Strain, brilliant film. Yeah, as Scott said, that one has been watched :) Both the uncut and the main YouTube version should be available if that's any help. As for "Out Of The Past", I'm definitely adding that one to the list too! Thank you again Dirk, haha yes it may do, but I'm definitely trying to ramp up the watched films over the next month ;)
Marty
2024-08-07 15:06:34 +0000 UTCGreat suggestion Dirk! Sorry, I've been SO behind on comments etc, as I've been trying to catch up on everything else. I love the sound of the film. I thought I had seen it, but turns out I hadn't! I shall add that to the suggestions list for you :D Thank you Dirk!
Marty
2024-08-07 15:03:48 +0000 UTCYou should definitely do your Severance watch/edit and upload it by, say, November or so (if not earlier) because more and more people are discovering the show and getting excited for Season 2, which begins airing January 17, and many of them will be searching for Severance content on YouTube. The finale of Season 1 was breathtaking, and fans are in a constant state of intense anticipation, but due to the strikes, the second season will air almost 3 years after the show's premiere...! It's only 9 episodes, so not too daunting length-wise. 🙂
Tess
2024-07-24 20:46:35 +0000 UTCOh great, thanks for letting me know Scott. Just joined recently.
Dirk
2024-07-18 21:20:53 +0000 UTCFYI, He's done The Andromeda Strain, A really good reaction. you should be able to find it here.
Scott Howard
2024-07-18 20:03:13 +0000 UTCOne other film I'd like to suggest, if you haven't seen it: 'October Sky' 1999. One of my favorite dramas, based on a true story, with a wonderful cast and great direction.
Dirk
2024-07-18 16:35:39 +0000 UTCI'm a Science Fiction & Film Noir fan. I see a number of really good ones already on the (ridiculously long) list. Would like to suggest 'The Andromeda Strain' 1971. Also 'Out Of The Past' 1947. Looks like it might take you years to get to all the movies listed though !
Dirk
2024-07-18 16:24:40 +0000 UTCAw thank you for that Tess! Sorry I'm so so behind on comments, but do want to take the time to reply to a ton at some point. I appreciate the comments and do see them when they come through though. Oh that's cool with the contrazoom in Severance! I can't wait to see it. Thank you! Yeah, that's pretty much me too. It sounds so good. The conversation with friends came about when I spoke about a FILM (not a show as I thought) called "Sorry to Bother You", which they said the premise reminded them of Severance. It's another weird mind bending show about a telemarkerting call centre and weird mind things (from what I remember)... some weird things anyway. It's VERY Black Mirror. I think you'll love it!
Marty
2024-07-16 19:29:03 +0000 UTCOooh... Tess and Robert, I really do need to check this out. I'll definitely add it to the top of the suggestions list!
Marty
2024-07-16 19:08:14 +0000 UTCThanks Scott! Very much noted. I will definitely add in the 50s WoTW too! I loved the radio drama when I did it and would love to see it brought to film, along with the Shrinking Man film
Marty
2024-07-16 19:05:52 +0000 UTCYou said it perfectly Tess. After I watched this on TV as a kid, I became obsessed with my height. I constantly checked my height for over a year…
Robert Williams
2024-07-16 17:15:31 +0000 UTCExcellent! I commented under your Jaws reaction on YouTube the other night that the contra zoom/dolly zoom is used in Severance in a very effective way. 🙂 I went in totally blind after hearing the intriguing premise, so even the casting was a pleasant surprise for me. I'm kinda obsessed with it actually; I've been reading the Severance subreddit and trying to recruit more people to watch it and so forth. Hopefully you've remained spoiler-free. I think you'll love it!
Tess
2024-07-16 04:01:17 +0000 UTCAhh Tess! Yeah it looks SO good! That was actually one I'd picked out myself after a few friends of mine mentioned it to me when it came out. I was so intrigued and really want to check it out. I can't wait to watch it either! Ooh, I need to get watching it as soon as I can. Thank you for letting me know about Season 2!
Marty
2024-07-16 02:09:43 +0000 UTCI saw this on TV, age 8 or 9 or so, and the ending gave me my first experience of what I now know to be 'existential horror'
Tess
2024-07-16 01:41:53 +0000 UTCYes, 'Double Indemnity' is quintessential film noir, along with 'Out of the Past' . Another Noir that is not very well known is 'Detour'. It's rather short and fairly low budget but packs a wallop. There are quite a few Noir films that are worth watching.
Dirk
2024-07-16 01:33:09 +0000 UTCSO HAPPY someone suggested Severance! Seconded! It's one of the most brilliant TV shows I've ever seen. Season 2 comes out in 6 months, I cannot wait!
Tess
2024-07-16 00:18:43 +0000 UTCSame here Scott, both of those movies stuck in my mind as a kid
Robert Williams
2024-07-08 23:37:49 +0000 UTCI haven't thought about this movie in long time. I watched it as kid and was just totally drawn into it. It would be a great reaction. Two movies that really shook me as a kid was this one and War of the Worlds. It funny to think about them now.
Scott Howard
2024-07-08 23:34:53 +0000 UTCGood suggestion Robert! Thank you for that. Definitely adding it!
Marty
2024-07-08 16:58:45 +0000 UTCSuggestion The Incredible Shrinking Man 1957
Robert Williams
2024-07-08 16:33:38 +0000 UTCYes, the Barbara Stanwyck version. I think it would be a good one for this channel. There's a really good line in this movie. But i won't say what it is. Until after you react to it.
Scott Howard
2024-07-08 07:21:35 +0000 UTCHi Scott, did you mean the original 1944 version? I'd love to watch that one. I hadn't noted down a version when putting it on the list. I did notice a few reactions to it, but can't wait to watch it myself. I'll try to watch it sooner rather than later for you! I'll move it up to the requests list for you
Marty
2024-07-08 01:57:23 +0000 UTCI’m always baffled that no one has reacted to Double Indemnity, for me, It set the standard for film noir. I see it on the list down there somewhere so that’s good.
Scott Howard
2024-07-08 01:02:49 +0000 UTCMy total pleasure!
Maria Torres
2024-07-07 19:04:58 +0000 UTCHi Maria, yeah it's definitely a lovely pick of films! I can't wait to delve into more. Thank you so much for your choice of film, I've added that to the requests part of the list for you! I've heard of it before, but not of what it was about or who was in it, so I appreciate that. Oh wow that's a lovely cast! Especially Prunella, as yeah I love Fawlty Towers, it's one of my favourites. Oh cool, it's a UK film too! Thank you so much Maria!
Marty
2024-07-07 18:39:20 +0000 UTCHoly Moly, have you got a shopping list ahead of you! I'm going to add one to it - "Hobson's Choice", from 1954. One of my very, very, favorite movies. Stars Charles Laughton and a very young John Mills, along with Brenda deBanzie. Also featuring a very, very young Prunella Scales in a small role (if you know "Fawlty Towers", she's Mrs. Fawlty). Directed by David Lean, proving that he's just as gifted on a small canvas as he is with an epic. "Hobson's Choice" is based on a play which takes place in Salford, near Manchester, and Lean filmed the movie in Salford itself.
Maria Torres
2024-07-07 11:31:40 +0000 UTCOhh, sorry about that Mel. It's because the requester asked to change it as they weren't too sure whether they would work for a reaction or not. The reason for *redacted* was just because they had changed their minds, however I did not want to remove them as I do still want to react to them. So it's okay, I'll still be watching them! It just means they won't be as immediate, due to them no longer being requests. The only reason I didn't move them to suggestions is because I'm really intrigued to watch them sooner rather than later. Aw, thank you Mel! That's much appreciated! I'm so glad you love it all
Marty
2024-06-17 22:53:39 +0000 UTCThank you Mel, I've now added that to the list! I had meant to add that before, as I've seen a few people mention that one in comments. Much appreciated! No worries about adding to the list, it'll happen and it means more greats for us to watch together!
Marty
2024-06-17 22:49:23 +0000 UTCAdding a recommendation (goodness me, I feel somewhat guilty adding to your burdens like this, but I haven't seen it mentioned here yet): Whatever Happened to Baby Jane (if you haven't seen that yet). As always, thank you kindly!
Mel Dase
2024-06-17 17:45:53 +0000 UTCQuick question: why do Mullholland Drive and Midsommar have *REDACTED* next to them? I'm sorry if this is explained somewhere, I looked but couldn't find it. (am personally hoping that it does not mean these were removed from this excellent list). Thank you again for all you do and all that you share!
Mel Dase
2024-06-17 17:44:10 +0000 UTCYou might do The Witch around/after late Halloween; it has a bleak late-autumn feel. And I second that Meet Me in St. Louis would be good for Christmas time. It takes place in all four seasons, but the winter/Christmas one has the most famous scene and song. It's a lovely, funny, tender classic film and I think you'll enjoy it.
Tess
2024-06-16 18:28:24 +0000 UTCNo problem Robert, it looks like a great film anyway!
Marty
2024-06-06 21:37:29 +0000 UTCOoh, thank you Robert! I'll have to check that one out. The name rings a bell, but not seen it. I appreciate the suggestion and I'm adding it to the list!
Marty
2024-06-05 17:28:05 +0000 UTCRobert Williams
2024-06-05 17:25:57 +0000 UTCI've just popped up a poll, so hopefully it helps! I could only include 25 options, but it's a start!
Marty
2024-06-02 11:29:42 +0000 UTCThank you for that Laura! I've now amended it 🤗
Marty
2024-06-02 10:16:56 +0000 UTCThank you Robert! I'll add that to the suggestions now. That sounds great, thank you!
Marty
2024-06-02 10:15:22 +0000 UTCA very good idea Tess! I may have to do that, as at the moment I've been prioritising requests and working through them as quick as any free time will allow. I can only vote a few things at once, so will just have to pick a few at random. Thank you!
Marty
2024-06-02 10:14:39 +0000 UTCMarty, you are in great need of a poll to help you sort out this list! 😂 One where those polled can checkmark several. You might end up with (for example) Amadeus at 4 votes, What We Do In The Shadows at 3 votes, and so on, which could help you prioritize them. Good luck, lol! 🤍
Tess
2024-06-02 05:59:07 +0000 UTCThank you Tom! I thought I'd replied to this. I'll change it now! Much appreciated
Marty
2024-06-01 20:51:46 +0000 UTCRobert Williams
2024-06-01 20:30:22 +0000 UTCOh! Not my suggestion but I think the last two on the list right now, The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer, are one movie with that whole title ;-)
Laura M
2024-05-26 04:35:31 +0000 UTCThe latest entry on the recommended films list I suspect should be The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer (1947) a comedy starring Cary Grant, Myrna Loy and a teenage Shirley Temple.
Tom Tattershall
2024-05-26 04:35:27 +0000 UTCThank you Laura! Apologies for only just replying now. I had before, but I was getting an error at the time whilst away. I presumed it had sent, but it hadn't. It's okay, I'd love to watch the show at some point too, so definitely adding it to my suggestions! It does look very good and VERY Lockwood & Co! Thank you
Marty
2024-05-24 12:28:01 +0000 UTCThank you for the suggestions Robert! I'll add those to the list and I'll hopefully be getting around to watching "To Kill A Mockingbird" at some point soon. Thank you!
Marty
2024-05-24 11:10:36 +0000 UTCThank you Scott. I have now had a few requests for this, so have moved it to the Patreon requests and hope to get around to it soon. As for Stranger Things, that's a fantastic request, but I'm already a HUGE fan of the series and have seen every episode. I'd love to watch Season 5 on here when it releases though, if you'd be interested in me checking that out. Thank you for the suggestions, I'm adding them to the suggestions! That's great, at least it means there will be some new things for you to check out for yourself and watch along too! I hope you're well Scott. Apologies it took me forever to reply to this. Kind regards
Marty
2024-05-24 03:42:40 +0000 UTCRobert Williams
2024-05-23 18:32:49 +0000 UTCI see that 'To Kill A Mockingbird (1962)' is on the suggestion list. Which I think means it's not a patreon request. So I would like to make it a patreon request. I would also like to request, as a tv show, 'Stranger Things'(Netflix). Couple of suggestions based on what I've watched with you. Robinson Crusoe on Mars (1964) ( Ah I saw this on the suggestion list) Double Indemnity (1944) The Odessa File (1974) I didn't see those in the suggestion list. Lot of good suggestions in the list. Also, A lot I've never heard of and I consider myself a major film buff.
Scott Howard
2024-05-01 19:04:01 +0000 UTCI know I shouldn't suggest another TV show, but I just started watching Dead Boy Detectives (Netflix) and it looks VERY good, kind of Lockwood & Co crossed with Julie and the Phantoms and The Sandman, if you can imagine that. Just FYI!
Laura M
2024-04-30 22:18:10 +0000 UTCThank you so much David! I'll add those to the list now. I've been meaning to check those out for years too. I hope you're well!
Marty
2024-04-05 23:56:01 +0000 UTCI mentioned them in your Easter Parade comments, but for more Judy Garland, Meet Me in St. Louis and A Star is Born (1954).
David Wayne Fox
2024-04-05 16:04:31 +0000 UTCFantastic! Out of the two, I feel like "Happy" would be most like the barmy nature of Dirk Gently, but The OA does have that heavy Sci-Fi theme to it. I hope you enjoyed it! Also, I have to say that "The OA" is incredibly slow in the first episode and doesn't seem at all like a Sci-Fi show at first. But it starts with an odd style to it in comparison to how it continues in future seasons.
Marty
2024-02-16 14:14:23 +0000 UTCOoh, those are new to me, thanks!! I will definitely check both of them out, I've already downloaded the first The OA episode :-)
Laura M
2024-02-16 03:43:28 +0000 UTCExactly! Friends at the time had no idea what show I meant. They said it sounds weird haha (which it does from the premise). I'm so glad to have found someone who loves it! Ahh thank you very much, I do love that kind of thing. Im glad to see you have impeccable taste too. Two other shows I'd recommend with a similar oddball/crazy feel is the show "Happy" (again, not many know of it) or maybe something less comedic but an odd premise is "The OA" which is a little strange, but great and the last Season goes really wacky
Marty
2024-02-15 09:32:10 +0000 UTCHaha that's awesome! Most people never even heard of that Dirk Gently show, or just think it's weird. I suspected you had superior taste but this confirms it :-)
Laura M
2024-02-15 08:24:32 +0000 UTCHi Laura! Ahh, thank you haha. Yeah, I've definitely got a few to go from the immediate list, including completing a GV series that was requested some time ago and hadn't got around to yet. I'm a few episodes in, but those potentially may only be posted as uncuts up on here for now. Yeah, Good Omens is one of the things I've also been starting on, alongside catching up with the few Patreon requests left on the list. I've been sprinkling in a few others from the main list though, one of which is coming soon. Ooh! Great idea with Noises Off, as I've not seen that yet I don't think and I love Michael Caine's work. However, you are a legend for that second request of Dirk Gently as I LOVE that show, but alas I've seen every episode multiple times as it's a huge favourite of mine. I didn't think I'd be seeing that in the suggestions as I wasn't sure if many had seen it! The US version with Elijah Wood is definitely the better one, it's 100% more crazy and so so good!! You've got amazing taste haha. The weirder it gets as the series went on is just perfect! I'm glad you love it as well. I just wish more people had heard of it. Definitely a top odd TV show for me in my favourites
Marty
2024-02-15 06:38:56 +0000 UTCI've been hesitating to make a suggestion since you have more than enough to deal with here already! (And also I don't want anything to distract you from watching Good Omens ASAP!) But I'll throw out a couple of things that you can consider in a few years or decades... Movie: Noises Off, 1992, Michael Caine. Light and fluffy comedy about a theater show, with a fantastic ensemble cast. TV show: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (the 2016 one with Elijah Wood). Very underrated but crazy good. (And crazy.)
Laura M
2024-02-15 04:38:05 +0000 UTCThank you Tara! Much appreciated and no problem at all. I know it's a bit diffcult navigating the whole list (it's difficult for me too, unless I use "control find" haha. From what I remember on the list, I believe Charade and What We Do In The Shadows (both TV series and film) are on the list. As for the rest, I shall add them now as I don't think I've seen any of them! I thought I'd seen "Some Like It Hot" and I know of Almost Famous from the posters (but haven't seen it). I hope you're well and thanks again!
Marty
2024-01-30 22:57:38 +0000 UTCCouple of suggestions (with huge apologies if you've already done them or already got them on the list): - Charade (1963) - Some Like It Hot (1959) - Victor Victoria (1982) - What We Do In The Shadows (2014) - The Fisher King (1991) - Almost Famous (2000)
Tara
2024-01-30 15:41:41 +0000 UTCI'm glad to see that there's some films on there that you love Mel! Yeah, I've heard SO many people talk about Midsommar, so will be very interested in seeing it as it looks amazing. Thank you!! I've got so many that I can't wait to sink my teeth into (no puns intended for one I haven't put on the list, What We Do In The Shadows - I need to add this)
Marty
2024-01-23 19:23:13 +0000 UTCHaha!! Yeah, it does seem that way, but I am planning on ramping up filming more of them as soon as possible. It's been a weird one the end of last year into this year with personal stuff, but I've got a few filmed so far. I just need to edit them. It's just getting the time to both record and edit the videos together that takes a while 😅 Thanks for sticking with me though Rob! It means a lot!
Marty
2024-01-23 19:19:40 +0000 UTCDear Lord. You'll be still doing reactions from the grave!
Rob
2024-01-23 18:49:33 +0000 UTCoh my goodness, The VVitch and Midsommar are two of my favorite films, I am so happy and excited to see your take on these two in particular! The whole list is packed full of fantastic films and shows... what a treat for us!
Mel Dase
2024-01-23 18:27:52 +0000 UTCThat's probably very true actually. It has been a lot more recently since posting the series. Plus, Tennant in Who could have also spurred it on. Probably a mix of both
Marty
2024-01-05 19:53:43 +0000 UTCI've noticed that Good Omens fans have a lot of cross over with fans of Our Flag Means Death. That probably explains the sudden onset of recommendations!
Megan Anne
2024-01-05 18:12:55 +0000 UTCThank you so much Tess, that's actually a really good idea. Once I've got things a little more sorted within a week or so, I'll definitely be implementing more polling to diversify the films chosen. When it comes to series, those I'll do on a different poll together I think. It still means I'll do them all, but just in an order of what people may prefer seeing first. The only ones that may not be used for these however are the Patreon requests, but maybe those can be done as their own poll to see which one comes first. Thank you so much for the great idea. I'm really wanting to streamline the way I'm doing things at the moment and whilst I've got it sorted quite well, the polls will make it easier to know what people would like to see first
Marty
2024-01-05 17:12:10 +0000 UTCAnother idea for you -- maybe you could do a poll of the suggestions, to find the ones your subscribers are most interested in, especially if more than one film/show could be selected by each individual. I don't know if Patreon has a poll with that capability, though. At any rate, it could help you sift through that long list!
Tess
2024-01-05 13:21:45 +0000 UTCBrilliant Megan! I've got it on the list now, it looks amazing! Quite a few people have mentioned it to me this past week haha. Oh cool, I didn't know it was a Neil Gaiman show. I definitely need to get on that one at some point. Beautiful! What We Do In The Shadows does look brilliant too. I think I was told the film is what I should watch first over the TV Show. I didn't realise it was still an ongoing series! Some friends mentioned this show to me some time back, I just never got around to it 😅 Probably a good thing, as now I can see it here!
Marty
2024-01-05 11:41:40 +0000 UTCWow! I highly recommend Good Omens on your suggestions list. David Tenant and Michael Sheen are amazing. Jon Hamm is also great in it. Created by Neil Gaiman. The first season is based on his novel, and the second is original material. Just got picked up for a 3rd season! I also second a comment mentioning What We Do In The Shadows. Both the movie and tv show are incredible - can't go wrong with either. Some of my favorite comedies of all time. The show will be ending next year with its 6th season.
Megan Anne
2024-01-05 02:49:46 +0000 UTCThere are definitely some great gems on there! Ooh wait, is that the 2022 series? I'd heard about this some time ago, I thought back i n 2018/19 so maybe it was word that they were making it. I haven't read the novel nor know anything about it, so that will be different. With that and "What We Do In The Shadows", knowing it's about vampires too, it seems we'll have quite a bit of vamps on the channel at some point or another haha. It's a shame I don't still have my vampire teeth... hmm, might have to buy some more now haha. Oh no, I'm so sorry Maggie! I saw that many years ago, but I do really love it. Both Leo & Kate give superb performances in it. Feel free to ask for other films though if you'd like and thank you so much for the suggested request 😊🩷 I hope you're well!
Marty
2024-01-04 16:21:17 +0000 UTCOh my gosh! So many exciting reccs on this list! It's a little less known but I would love to see 'Interview with the Vampire' TV series Marty or if you're looking for more film reccs (I know those are easier haha) - I'd love to see your reaction to Titanic if you haven't seen it? 😊🩷

2024-01-04 15:04:08 +0000 UTCThe series (based on the movie) is definitely worth watching on the channel, yes! I look forward to more of your reactions! Just discovered you over the weekend with your reaction to "Moonstruck"!

2024-01-04 14:07:27 +0000 UTCBrilliant, thank you! Would you say the series is something to watch on the channel? I didn't realise there will be 6 seasons!! Good to know though, maybe I'll do them over time. But yes, film first! Thank you Tara
Marty
2024-01-04 11:53:41 +0000 UTCYou should watch the movie first. Both Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clemente star in it. The series is funny too, so you should check that out. Sadly the upcoming 6th season will be the last one.

2024-01-04 11:38:39 +0000 UTCThis is a fantastic idea! Thank you for letting me know, as I wouldn't have known otherwise. I don't tend to pre-look up films for certain days, unless I hear anything about them or am curious to the plot. Like the fact that I'll be doing "Easter Parade" (1948) for Easter, but that one's in it's title. I'll definitely try to aim for May 1st. Oh god, yes! I love the sound of Midsommar but it hadn't twigged that it meant the time of year. I kept thinking like the TV series "Midsomer Murders" (spelt different, I realise now) - Thank you so much, I love to get ideas like this. It does very much help me out

2024-01-04 11:12:07 +0000 UTCAhh yes! Tess, your "Boy" request is the one in the requests list ;) I remember writing that one from your mention of it before! Another Waititi film that's meant to be great, so I am definitely looking forward to it. PLUS, the 80?! YES! I love the 80s. I love that there's a lot of your thinking aloud ideas there too haha, we all have great taste!
Marty
2024-01-04 11:05:41 +0000 UTCOohh yes, a group of friends that I used to work with recommended this to me a while back and I kept meaning to watch it, it's another Taika Waititi production isn't it? (from memory) Apparently there's a film and TV show? Which one do you think is better or are they both similar? Should I watch both on the channel? All the questions haha! Thank you so much, have a wonderful day too. If you're around for the livestream later, then I shall see you there

2024-01-04 11:01:56 +0000 UTCWhen I saw someone else suggested The Wicker Man, it gave me an idea for you, Marty. (No worries if you're not into it, of course!) The Wicker Man takes place on May Day, which is central to the plot. You could time your reaction to air that day! There are other seasonal films, besides Halloween and Christmas, that could potentially help you plan out your calendar. Another one is Midsommar (right there in the name of course--midsummer/the summer solstice). Anyway, just a thought!

2024-01-04 06:05:07 +0000 UTCOh my, all my 'thinking aloud' request ideas are up there, lol! I know I only get one so I'll say 'Boy'. It's a beautiful, touching, funny little film and semi-autobiographical for Taika Waititi, who spent childhood summers with his Māori family; he plays a version of his father in the film. It's set in the 80s too, so my GenX self enjoyed that!
Tess
2024-01-04 05:49:37 +0000 UTCGood taste on all three of those, Tara! :)
Tess
2024-01-04 05:45:44 +0000 UTC“What We Do in the Shadows” is another recommendation. It’s a mockumentary about vampire friends who live with each other. So funny! Anyway, have a wonderful evening and week!

2024-01-04 01:56:30 +0000 UTCThanks Tara! That's down to you guys being so awesome. Ooh yes! I've heard good things about them, so will add them now! I'm not sure if I'll update this list consistently too, but I'll try to. Technically I do have Letterboxd that I've tried to keep up to date too, but there may be some missing on there. I'm glad you like the list! You can see there's plenty of love for the classics too
Marty
2024-01-03 22:06:03 +0000 UTCTons of awesome movies on this list! I'd like to add (unless I missed it on that list): "The Haunting" (1963 version) and "The Uninvited" (1940s, I think, but it stars Ray Miland among others.
