It's finally here, the UNCUT version of me listening to the original "War Of The Worlds" Radio Drama (after being painstakingly re-edited due to the hard drive issue haha).

This took so much time in the making, from prepping to filming and editing. I really hope you guys enjoy! Please just bear in mind that this version has none of the overlaying additional material that I will be adding to it in the edit, so if you'd prefer to wait for that version, then I shall hopefully have it on here sometime next week. I'm putting it out on YouTube, all being well, around 30th... but that may change. Just for your lovely ears, I have included the original radio broadcast in there for you too, so you don't have to sync it up! I hope that helps.

If you did enjoy this, please let me know as it honestly would help. I know many people say it, but with something like this one, it really would! I haven't seen other people doing things like this, so I thought it would be unique.

Thank you so much for watching!

Kind regards

Marty

UNCUT version | War Of The Worlds Radio Drama (1938) Reaction

Comments

Yess!! Same here, I love the older radio comedy shows. I have a few of the radio dramas / shows on vinyl too. Thank you Rob! It's well worth it, as it's a brilliantly made drama by Welles (and of course Wells too) - I hope you'll love the main YT version of this too!

Hi Rob! Thank you so much for the feedback. Yeah, that was my thoughts on an audio radio reaction. I had wondered how to do it. The way it is in this uncut video is just in full as is, but in the main YouTube version, I've made sure to muffle the drama's audio when I speak, so it's not confusing. It was confusing listening back for me too at first. Also, I haven't stumbled across many yet, but as usual if I speak over anything needed to be heard, I'll be adding that in before or after I speak to make sure it makes sense and people get to hear it. That way it makes sense with further comments I"ll make. Thank you so much! Yeah, this was the first time I'd thought about doing one of these, as a fair number of people suggested it. Thank you so much! I'd immediately wanted to do something in this vintage style for this. I love the style and so wanted to try it out. Plus, everything on "set" are my own belongings that I have dotted around in general haha. I use the vintage radio with my smart speaker behind it normally haha. Plus that clock was my great Grandad's, so wanted to include it for him. He loved Sci-Fi and no doubt loved this radio drama.

As I was saying: I can see how video vs audio reactions must be inherently different. With video there are natural "lulls" that allow commentary, but audio doesn't afford that - then it becomes hard (for me) hearing both the audio and the commentary over top of one another. But I'm only one person, and it could just be that my brain isn't as spry as it once was. Regardless, I do NOT want to discourage you, and if at any time in the future you want to do another radio show, I hope you'll give it a shot. I also very much appreciate the ambiance you gave it - black and white, old cameras, radio, and clock. It was done quite well.

Rob

I'm an Old Time Radio addict, so I love that you're giving this a try. I appreciate the time and work you put into it.

Hi Maggie! Thank you so much and for checking it out! I really appreciate it and wasn't sure at all what the reception to it would be. Yeah, I think I may be the first one to have reacted to not just this radio drama, but probably any radio drama. It's probably just a bit niche, but since we love vintage films, something like this should work well too. It just means I have to create something entirely different in the main edit haha. Hopefully you'll enjoy it! Just please bear in mind this version is in full with no imagery, so it is just my raw reaction to it. The YouTube version will be cut up as per usual and with added content. Fantastic! Well, when you do continue, I hope you enjoy. Take care and thank you

Marty

Wow, I'm only a couple of minutes in but I have to say: the concept of this video is fascinating! I've never seen a reaction to a radio drama! It's my bedtime now but I'll definitely be continuing this! :)
