The Modern Ryuvian Calendar Timeline of Events

THE ANCIENT AGE

1500 BC? : Sharr Sola di Ryuvia defeats Crow Harbor at the cost of her own life.

0 AC : Versta declares independence from the Holy Ryuvian Empire, becoming the final fiefdom to do so. The de facto end of the Holy Ryuvian Empire, and the beginning of the Dark Age.

132 AC : The New Empire is established at New Eden. The Church of Ryuvia relocates to New Eden and anoints Emperor Edenus I. The New Empire adopts many of the old Holy Ryuvian Empire's rites and establishes a hierarchical caste-based monarchy. It uses the vast resources of New Eden to establish a new order in a galaxy ravaged by chaos following the collapse of the Holy Ryuvian Empire.

THE ALLIANCE-IMPERIAL WAR

780 AC : Wealthy merchants in the distant world of Solaris refuse to pay taxes to the boy Emperor Clovis IX and the Dowager Empress. Led by Admiral Madeline Gray, Solaris and a hundred other worlds declare independence from the New Empire. The Solar Alliance is established as a new nation based upon the principles of democracy and the free market. The Alliance-Imperial War begins.

785 AC: The Solar Alliance make a pact with Ryuvia Prime, wherein they promised the Ryuvians the return of their ancient worlds in the modern-day Neutral Rim in exchange for the Ryuvians' support in the war against the New Empire.

786 AC: The Treaty of Vespa is signed, formally ending the Alliance-Imperial War. The Solar Alliance becomes the dominant force in the galaxy. They betray the Ryuvians and instead organizes the worlds which were originally promised to the Ryuvians into the Neutral Rim, a buffer zone of independent worlds to separate the Alliance and the New Empire.

THE PACT REVOLUTION

900 AC: The first Prototype, Alice Ashada is born. She is discovered by Obrin Neicht, the man who goes on to become Veniczar Arcadius. The final years of the PACT Revolution begin, marking the beginning of the end for the New Empire.

902 AC: The People's Alliance (PACT) is officially formed, promising equality for all humans and the dismantling of the Imperial caste system. PACT sacks New Eden. Crown Prince Erizlo XI dies in the defense of New Eden. The New Empire collapses and PACT occupies the Imperial Palace. However, Arcadius mysteriously vanishes.

903 AC: Emperor Erizlo X dies and with him, the final Imperial remnants surrender to PACT. Arcadius reappears and declares himself the Veniczar of the People's Alliance.

THE NEUTRAL RIM WAR

913 AC: PACT invades the Neutral Rim in violation of the Treaty of Vespa. The events of Sunrider First Arrival and Mask of Arcadius occur.

914 AC: The events of Sunrider Liberation Day occur. Admiral Harold Gray is killed in the Liberation Day Massacre. The Alliance Fleet, seeking revenge, warps deep into PACT space to capture the core world of Tethra. Ambushed by High Admiral Kuushana's hidden PACT Fleet, the Alliance Combined Fleet is completely routed. The Retreat of Hell occurs, as the Crimson Fleet slowly picks apart the Combined Fleet as it retreated from PACT space.

915-916 AC: The tide turns against the Alliance. The Trial of Kryska Stares shocks the galaxy. Public opinion in the Solar Alliance turns against the Neutral Rim War. Anti-war protests occur throughout Alliance space.

918 AC: The Progressive Party wins the Solar Alliance elections, on a platform of winding down the Neutral Rim War. The Alliance Fleet falls back to Far Port and constructs an absolute defense line there. PACT gains de-facto control over the Neutral Rim, but does not possess the numbers to get past the Alliance's absolute defense line. The Neutral Rim War simmers down, with the Alliance bunkered at Far Port, and PACT occupying hundreds of Neutral Rim worlds. However, the victorious Crimson Fleet now finds itself stretched thin maintaining order in the devastated worlds of the war-ravaged Neutral Rim.

THE REBIRTH OF THE HOLY EMPIRE

919 AC: The events of Sunrider 4: The Captain's Return occur.
