Escape Prelim

I'm pleased with how this came out! I would say it's 98% finalized. There's some stuff yet that needs to be added to the backround (the shape of a giant's hand, a couple more super faded trees), but I don't think I could add it on paper without losing the order I put things in right now (bless whoever came up with layers in photoshop), and maaaaybe tilt it an extra degree (a bit maybe), but otherwise, I really enjoyed working on this.
Working on this project is definitely putting me back in touch with what I enjoyed about drawing to begin with: working with things I can touch and immerse myself in. Pencil will always be my first love, and I really, really like just working with it. I wish it was something I could integrate into my work more during editorial work (outside of rough thumbnails) but the things I love about it like the meditative aspect and the tactile experience unfortunately take too much time for super quick turnarounds! so I'm glad I get to do it with these pieces. It brings me back to being a 10 year old sitting on the porch with a bunch of pencils scattered everywhere, learning about my love for mark making.
