It's been a few years since I saw these movies but I remember that in "The hurt locker" Bigelow puts in a scene where the two guys are fighting. They are rolling around on the floor, first pretend-wrestling, then actually wrestling. There is a moment where you think one is going to kiss the other but then he is being rejected and they let go of each other. The are on the same team (unit) but one is the protagonist and the other the antagonist. What I'm trying to say here is that Bigelow is telling the same story again and making it even more explicit without being explicit.
