Its so depressing to search for this stuff on youtube. You will get DOZENS of videos with millions of hit, all with the same faux-experts saying that pips on the radar do impossible things. However the one thing it never comes with is high definition video. This always reminded me of the Battle of the Pips: one of the more entertaining battles in ww2. In the Alaska campaign a US task group suspected the arrival of a Japanese invasion fleet. They tracked several enemy vessels on multiple radar sets, and in the end blew off half a thousand 14in shells at the ‘enemy vessels’. The enemy vessels then mysteriously disappeared from the US radar screens, and the next day when they went to investigate they found no wreckage!! In all likelihood they engaged a flock of migratory birds that fly past Kirska Island every year.
