Added 2021-06-28 13:28:34 +0000 UTCMy eyes popped when I saw this ‘private and confidential’ Boring Tunnel Project for ‘slightly larger tunnels’. It was not so much that part of The Boring Companies plan was to make smaller tunnels to speed up the tunneling, but the fact that the intermodal containers were going to be transported by ‘battery powered freight carrier’. This is basically what a truck does…. So how has it been miniaturized to fit under the intermodal shipping container? This is what the Tesla Semi was pitched as 4 year ago, and almost nothing has been seen of it since. This is most likely because its sales pitch of ‘it has good acceleration and hardened glass’ are things that are almost irrelevant to the shipping industry. The thing that kills the electric shipping industry is the mass of the batteries. An electric truck will require tons of batteries, and take along time to charge. I then added about half of his vaporware promises about high speed tunnels, and solar roof tiles, not including all that stuff about how he will fly starship like a plane next year, how he has a plan for an electric plane….. or all that neuralink giving telepathy –eyeroll
