Meanwhile in reality, while its true these companies have 100s of millions of dollars to blow, they are not, and will never get anywhere close to building a working hyperloop. HyperloopTT is suggesting they might build a 3km test track, and Virgin Hyperloopone says theirs will be 6km long. Both have a construction time of about 5 years. Even if these were realisitic construction times for a working system, which they are not, this puts the construction for the ‘real hyperloop’ at about 100+ years.
After the best part of 10 years of development with 800 ‘contributors’ HyperloopTT has proudly revealed they have a single large gate valve…. Just with no hyperloop attached to it!
The hyperloop is going to go down as one of the largest money burning parties in history!

As I understand it, first you compress space, then you move through the compressed part, compressing more on the way. I guess like a pasta machine, big lump of dough at the front, longer strings out the back

Perhaps so many people want it to be true that it becomes "a thing" (I want time-travel, teleportation, warp-drive, reactionless thrust, telekinesis etc. to be real but that doesn't make it real). And, folks are often reluctant to go against the crowd. I guess that's just the reality we live in; the internet was supposed to liberate us from fairies & dragons, but seems to have had the opposite effect. Keep up the good work, I find you videos both entertaining & liberating..

2021-04-23 21:08:49 +0000 UTCevery time I hear about the hyperloop and how amazing it is, I cannot help but laugh. I work with hospital autoclave sterilizers and the amount of daily maintanence these machines require to be able to maintain a vacuum in the 70 millibar range of a couple of cubic meters, is comprehensive. So the thought of miles long tunnel, even if the mechanics of the loop were possible, it could never be cost effective to run.

2021-04-22 14:31:21 +0000 UTCHello, Question, with the Alcubierre warp drive. If it compresses space in front of your craft, then wouldn't your craft "fling" (lack of a better word) back into its starting space at the moment you shut the drive down?
