EVIL WOLVES (4:3)

My new short "EVIL WOLVES" is out today!!

This is the first of six skits I recorded with these characters back in 2023, they've been sitting on the shelf for a bit. 😅

I wanted to design them as standalone 1-minute shorts that could be cropped for vertical video and posted one at a time--then stitched together into one full-size video later on.

But for Patreon I thought I'd share the "WIDESCREEN" edition now!!

More stuff on the way... I hope everyone is well! 🥂

:3 tunnel?

roach

This shit funny as fuck, I'd bump to $20 a for a 22 minute scooby-doo-esque episode of this

Noah Solomon

Top notch in every way, thank you!

John Bonnin

EEEEVIL WOLVES!!!

Ollie M

My absolute favorite part of this is the following along and looking at the dog for confirmation “watery grave…. okay, is there a second way?”

The Better Joe

This is the best thing I have seen all day. It's only 8am, but I bet it will still be the best thing by at least 9am

Amy Bradford

these eras and styles you can emulate do are insane

cherricheesedog

absolutely love it!! the bits of dust and hairs stuck on the animation cels are a really nice touch, you recreated that classic scooby-doo look perfectly :)

WalshyMystery

One of my fav things about your animations are your expressions!! I always wonder if you recreate them in the mirror as you animate, or end up mimicking them as you're going along? They're truly great. Also love how this guy keeps looking back at his dog for his dog's reaction.

Isa A

I’d kill to see the entire process from music score to animation in a series of videos if possible. Also, to anyone else who reads this, watching this on a phone doesn’t do it justice. Sync it to a TV if possible

KK Akuoku

Safe wolves, like funny wolves ?

Adam Hewitt

OBSESSED with this omg

Cal N

The answer to that is always less. I love seeing your BTS videos. Super informative for my own GP workflow!

Jake Doubleyoo

I’ve risen from the floor to say I’d love to see that video.

KK Akuoku

THANK YOU!! I can go into detail and make a video on it if people are curious 😅 but yes the music was quite the labor of love. Over 200 takes HAHA

Worthikids

First you nailed 1960s Ani-Magic in Blender and now you’ve got the 70s Hanna-Barbera look down! If you say that you composed the music yourself, I will collapse on the floor.

KK Akuoku

This is absolutely fantastic. I am super jealous in a very inspired way. Thank you for sparking my brain!

Crusher Talos

So, so good and fun as always 💙

Tori Williams

I grew up on Hanna-Barbera and Scooby Doo, so seeing this pop up today just freaking made my whole month. You freaking nailed the vibe while also keeping some of your own style visible, I love this whole bit to death! Also if Matthew Lillard ever retires from Shaggy I think I want to hear you voice him next.

Lime Sapper

Hilarious animation again! Great vibes and even better dialog! Obviously this stage magician just finished a very stessful local gig and blowing off steam by taking a walk to the local cliffside vista. Then a tourist is asking for directions again when all the tourist needs to do is turn around. Typical tourist behavior.

Lewis

Honestly a pretty annoying bug!! Randomize looks so good until those "splotches" pop up. I didn't mind when starting this short but by the end I was a bit fed up HAHA 💀 I may try different settings for the next part.

Worthikids

For a while I've been thinking how I'd go about emulating 70's Hanna-Barbera in Blender, and by god you beat me to it and totally nailed it. You even put specks of dust under the cels!!! The line art also reminds me of xerox-era Disney which I *love.* I did notice in a few of the close-up shots on Evil Mustache Man, the lines have that overly-jagged look you get with the "Randomize" stroke setting. I doubt anyone who doesn't animate with Grease Pencil would notice, but to me it's always a giveaway that something was drawn in Blender rather than being real cel animation. I like my results better when I use the "Noise" modifier instead. That modifier also makes it super easy to get a boiling line effect, but it doesn't *quite* look convincingly real if that's what you're going for.

Jake Doubleyoo

I love love love the fact that there's these lint marks whenever the arms, hands or joints are moving like a motion tween. It just adds to the visuals, and your voice for the youngster feels like Casey Kasem but more grouchy. This short rules

HeyItsJola!

oh i’m very much looking forward to the rest of this now :D

Tuesday M

I feel like Worthi MIGHT have a funny bone for extremely goofy 90s villains that desperately try to make sure their bases are covered

Pin

"Oh no he's laughing" God I love that this guy just repeats evil man every other line. Peak performance per usual

Cimmanon

Ian, your ability to create and voice in such a wide variety of very specific styles always blows me away. Hilarious and utterly delightful as always!
