Krixka - Variations/Process
Added 2025-01-29 03:11:41 +0000 UTCI wanted to make a snake girl for 2025 that didn't follow the trend of a white hair/new years theme character. Instead, I used a paradise tree snake as a point of reference.
The first thing the markings of the animal remind me of are paint splatters on a concrete wall, which is where the graffiti concept came from. For colors so loud and saturated, I think a similarly loud and boisterous personality would be fitting. So a street punk with a grenade launcher is what I ended up going with.
This animal is better known as the "flying" snake for it's ability to glide from tree to tree, but trying to fit too many themes into a design is a recipe for disaster. I chose instead to omit that part and focus on the color palette. It's difficult balancing a bunch of loud colors on a design, so it was an exercise in restraint.
