Hopefully them convey that, that is Alice intentions, to show people that Batwoman can be killed.

Notice how she always mentions killing Batwoman or "The Bat", not so much killing Kate. She knows Kate and Batwoman are the same person. She wants the world to see Batwoman die and to see her as the one doing it. It's not about killing Kate, it's about killing the visage of Batwoman. Killing what Batwoman represents. Otherwise, if she simply kills Kate, then someone else can try donning a Batwoman suit and taking her place. But if they see Batwoman die in front of their eyes, then they'll know for sure that "The Bat" is dead, and anyone else who tries to be Batwoman would be an imposter.

2020-10-16 22:16:08 +0000 UTCOh, the whole thing about the coded book and killing Batwoman wasn't about Kate per se. Yeah, she's human. But THE SUIT. The suit makes the wearer impervious to bullets, knives, shrapnel, etc. It's about rendering the suit useless by stripping all those protections away. The railgun was about penetrating the suit and killing the wearer. That gun is gone, so now they have to find another way to make the suit and wearer vulnerable.
