Keyframing in animation

I know I've talked about it with some people, but I wanted to make a short post here regarding the importance of keyframing in my animation process. I'm currently working with a game developer to animate something special for them, but in the process I realized that this would be a great opportunity to showcase my thought process when animating.

This looks very choppy right now, but it gives me an opportunity to showcase how I time my videos by laying out a sketch first. Sometimes I do this scene by scene, which is how I end up with partially finished products. But the process remains the same regardless.

I'm nearly done with the lineart of these keyframes and soon I'll be able to compile the entire process into one post~ Hope this helps anyone looking to get into animation themselves~

I used to, but I found them to be a little stiff for action posing. They're really good to practice simple poses though, especially perspectives. As for artists I've always been into Disney and Ghibli. I also used to copy the styles of several animes to find out what I wanted for my own personal style

Do you ever use mannequins? And is there a specific artist or style that you take insperation from?
