2021-10-02 15:05:53 +0000 UTCI last saw this one in the 80s and it scared the hell out of 11 year old me. It's showing its age in a lot of ways, but I had a good time rewatching. I'm with you on that moonlit fog and spooky vibe. Feels like a dark fairy tale. And, man, that witch holds up. She's scarier than Pumpkinhead. The whole movie could've just been her sitting by the fire, saying ominous shit. Stan Winston was like *the* effects and creature designer in the 80s and 90s. He designed some famous monsters like Predator and won a few Oscars. This was his first time directing.
