Manchester: The surrounding hotels opened up their rooms (& gave free meals) to any under 18's who had been split form their parent/guardian. All the local taxi services gave free rides to all that had been cleared as safe to leave (to anywhere in the country). By the next morning there were tables of food & drink for anybody still being treated, & all the emergency service personnel. The local restaurants opened early & were giving out free meals to those still looking for people & all the hospitals involved had queues of people dropping stuff off (clothes/sandwiches/bottles of water) for whoever needed it. Then the Queen went to the children's hospital yesterday (after apparently telling her detail she didn't care if it was clear or not, she was going) & visited every patient/family.
