Hollow Knight, Ranni, Artorias - Schedule, Character Suggestions and more

We’ve been receiving many character requests, and we hope Volition will have a long life so we can bring all of them to reality.
At times, we’ve chosen to work on more “commercial” characters like Malenia, Hornet, and the Nightreign models. These help with visibility and, in a way, brought many of you here.
In our last polls (where Maliketh and Hollow Knight were chosen) two characters came very close: Ranni and Artorias. We’ve decided to make both next, as we truly believe in their potential.
So, here’s our schedule for the next months:
Hollow Knight — September
Our version of this beloved character is in the support-adding stage. For those who are not on Discord, here’s the concept art by the talented Giann Laurente, the same artist who created Hornet’s concept.
Ranni — October
The Age of Stars… If that was your ending, you definitely need this Ranni on your shelf. Rafael is currently working on her, and we’ve shared the WIP on Discord.
We’ll do our best to share more of the process, but things are so hectic… so if you can drop by and ask for an update, it helps a lot!
Mint Artorias — November
Our idea is to bring a diorama of Artorias and Sif, set before he was consumed by the Abyss. We’ll be posting the diorama sketch on Discord.
However, we won’t be able to release both characters in the same month, this will be a large piece, so the bases will be designed to work together. We’re also still facing the question of whether Artorias might be left-handed, so we’ll need your help with that.
December — TBD
After Hollow Knight’s release next month, we’ll introduce a new suggestion system for characters and open voting to decide December’s model!
