We’ve finished the cutting and attached images for you to check out. The 32 mm version it’s a large piece for that scale, but not too problematic for printing overall.
Things start to get trickier with the 75 mm scale version.
We’re using an Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra for our print tests, which means we do have some space limitations. As you can see in the images, part of the base fits right up to the edge of the build plate, but everything still fits!
However, for a larger version (we’re thinking something between 45 cm and 65 cm tall), things get more complicated. We'd run into limitations printing key parts like the sword, cape, upper torso, and potentially the hair, especially if we want to orient the pieces properly for clean prints.
Right now, we don’t have a printer big enough to handle a model of that size. And honestly, we don’t feel good about slicing the cape in a rough way, Maliketh’s cape is fully detailed with embroidery and fur, and cutting it carelessly would really hurt the final result.
Time is also slipping through our fingers, this month, we’re handling supports ourselves. The pieces are highly detailed and require special care to support properly. And, well… we’re a small family business with a baby to care for too!
So here’s where we need your help:
Would you be interested in a version bigger than 33 cm, and do you have a printer that can handle this beast?
Do you have experience and availability to help us with supports and test printing?

Hi Phill! Thank you! Well, it’s more a matter of the cuts than of the details. There’s enough detail for it to be printed at a large scale, but some cuts wouldn’t be viable. The cape is extremely detailed, making a straight cut just to fit it on a smaller printer probably wouldn’t be a good idea. Same with the torso, which is quite wide. The cape could be printed at 120% to keep a good orientation and prioritize the details. So, in general, whoever wants to can scale it up by 20%, and it should work fine. But to go even larger, you’d really need a bigger printer. Maliketh is truly massive, and making him printable on a medium-sized printer would be quite difficult 😅

2025-06-09 16:43:30 +0000 UTCIMO, it seems like creating a version with appropriate detail for printing on a machine the size of the S4U, and if someone wants to scale it up to print on a larger printer, let them? IDK how many folks have larger scale printers (GK3U, Jupiter, etc.) but if I had to guess the vast majority are in the same build envelope as the S4U.
