Man, what a week..I started recording footage of the process on Ghazghkulls base, then this base, and then decided neither were interesting enough.
There are much more fascinating topics than a piece of wood that will come from the Conan project, and in order to keep it moving at an enjoyable pace, I think a simple group of photos can cover it
Keeping it lush and with an aura of creeping death. I laid out a variety of green tones and got to the wetblending, allowing the natural textures to be my guide and trying to cause my own interesting textures. The snake was a fun one, I don't get many chances to stipple a scaly effect. The statue head was the same array of greens but with a touch of light gray (vallejo deck tan) mixed in to the progression.
I still plan on adding some plants and moss but this is a big first step. Having it out of the way also means I can focus on the other topics offered by this model, like the sword or female skin tone, transparent fabric, hair, oh boy!
And yes, I did record a video that I deemed worthy after failing twice haha.
