Nate's Rough Square

This is one of the first brushes I made, and it continues to be one of my most used. So, what do I like about it, and how should it be used?

It's quick, even on slow computers. The four squared corners makes it quick to use for detail work without worrying too much about brush size.

It's best used early on in a painting to messily lay down colour and basic shapes. The looser you are with it, the more random shapes and impressions will be generated. But why would you want random shapes and impressions? Two reasons. It results in texture, and texture can enhance your art tremendously. Second reason, it's a powerful aid to your imagination. When you're looking at a blank canvas, it's hard to know where to begin. Once you have some shapes and value laid down your imagination can work much more efficiently.
