Both movies I watched were good. The Beast was more Sci-Fi than horror. It reminded me of Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind meets The 13th Floor. The only stretch of the imagination, for me, was believing she was still into dude in act 3 after act 2. The cat kill was well played and conceptually relevant. Animal death / cruelty in a film is my number one trigger. This was the first time it didn’t bother me, likely due to the fact they didn’t show the act or the aftermath. In a Violent Nature was super gory and really funny to me. If you liked the Friday the 13th movies as a kid this one is worth checking out. It was “plotless” in a nostalgic way that seemed very much intended. People bitched that it was too slow but I’m ADHD AF and wasn’t bored. The Beast felt slow at times, but the feeling may have been frustration associated with trying multitask with some sewing. This proved impossible bc the film kept slipping in and out of subtitles.

You guys would find Le vourdalek interesting at the very least—saw it at a local film fest. Vampire period piece and the vampire is performed by a large puppet. Very idiosyncratic

I saw an Indian action film on Saturday called Kill. Buff main dude and extreme violence, it's right up the sleazoids alley.
