Bi-Monthly Patron Double Feature Nominations - Jan. 2022

I'm sure most of you know the drill at this point but for any new patrons we officially surpassed our goal of 150 patrons back in August 2020 which means that we've introduced some democracy around these parts and one episode every other month is a special episode where you folks nominate and vote for that week's double feature!

Your last vote was for PHANTASM (1979) and PHENOMENA (1985) and that episode is dropping soon. The next episode you're voting on will be our first episode of 2022 so give us something special to ring in the new year.

This is our 8th time doing this so I'm sure most of you know the drill by now but in case you don't:

1) Comment below with your double feature ideas/requests (maybe include an argument for the pairing to convince others for part 2.

2) Look at other people's double features below and hit the "like" button on it to upvote theirs if you think it's a good one.

This post will be up for about a week or so and after the results are in I will put the most upvoted double features into a poll for everyone to vote on more officially.

AND GO!

Comments

Probably late to this but my go-to double feature would be Bernard Rose's PAPERHOUSE (1988) and Ann Turner's CELIA (1989). Two late 80s child trauma fantasy films that deal with grief and abuse with dream-like paranoia. The latter ventures more into folk horror and is a bit obscure but can be found on YouTube when I last checked

Mikey & Nicky (1976) and Mean Streets (1973). Low-level hoods with catholic guilt being dragged down by their hilarious and charming manchild best friends. Pursued by other incompetent hoods
