Very late at night and under the influence of an unexpectedly powerful edible, I cued up The Fog on a sketchy website and watched in utter disbelief. What I saw shook me to my core. I began to question all of my assumptions about good movies. "How on earth could John Fucking Carpenter have put his name on this garbage?" After about 20 min, I couldn't take it anymore. I was no longer even high. I jumped over to Wikipedia. I was watching the 2005 remake. I've now seen the original and listened to the episode and my faith in John Carpenter has been restored. I did go back to finish the remake. A few decent sequences and beautiful location shots aside, it is truly horrendous. I laughed my ass off through the entire final sequence though. Worth checking out just for that.
