They really built upon the first one very well. I am engrossed in this world and cannot wait for the next one.

I am constantly blown away by the stunts. They really stepped everything up 10 notches. I also really enjoy seeing Winston more, but I'm not sure how things will play out in the next movie. I feel like next movie will just be action, and I have no idea how he'll be able to get away from people.
I wasn't expecting Morpheus, but that was super fun! I assume next movie he'll be gunning for that $14 million though 😨

I always forget this is the film that introduced the bulletproof suits. John holding his suit jacket up to cover his face has become such an iconic staple of his fight choreography. Then again, this movie does ramp up the goofiness a little (in a good way) which is very much in part thanks to the bulletproof suit, among other things (shoutout to that silenced pistol shootout amongst an oblivious crowd). I really do love this movie, and for a time I did consider it superior to the first, but the first one has stood the test of time for me a little more. While the first movie makes you wait for the action to start, in a way that perfectly builds tension and establishes the setting and the stakes, this one hits the ground running for about 10 minutes and then kinda drags for most of the first hour. There’s some good stuff in there, but I think the movie suffers for not having any action between the opening and the rave shootout. Still, the action is such a perfect escalation of what was established in the first movie that it’s easy to forget how long you’ve waited for it.

When he stabbed Cassian, he made a point about removing the knife and the professional courtesy, when he stabbed the mute, he pulled the knife out. Not stated but I took it to mean she wasnt extended the same courtesy and was already dead. Was excited to see you get your pencil scene hahaha.

2025-06-12 18:13:42 +0000 UTCI worked room service in an upscale hotel in Chicago 2010-2012, that had many celebrity guests and Common (Cassian) was a regular guest. He was known, but not a big star yet. Became his regular server, he was a really nice guy. Was not surprised how big he got.
